Combined arms AND Venom? Happy Birthday to you

I have to say it; both these events are my all time least favorite. Is this like when you were a kid and had a party so you could open all your presents in front of every one else? Like Nar nar na nar nar.

I cant even play the venom heroic because the featured characters available I have never put iso in, so I cant even clear it once with a low level 2 star cap and Thor and Like Beast, no one has covers for Beast unless they bought them for some unknown reason.

As far as combined arms I only have Juggs in my 1 star roster and a few 2 star left anymore. I do have 5 pages of 3 & 4 star, which apparently I completely wasted time and money on.

All round awful rewards for both, your decision to persistently have people NOT playing your game just boggles my mind.

Combined Arms was actually voted for.

As for Heroic, there have been some theories as to why it was chosen. Mainly because Deadpool was short so they needed a short PvE to fill out the week. Not a very popular choice, but it is what it is.

I'm wondering if they wanted to deliberately pick something people wouldn't care about, or determine the floor on participation. For a lot of us vets, there's nothing we can get out of this but a little ISO (for a lot of frustration).

I'll wager that the **** Rags rewards were a massive oversight, since they're copy-pasted from the last CA. Stupid, not conniving.

But, players voting in the FB polls truly voted for DP, CA, and BoP as the PVPs they most wanted. Those are the PVPs we're getting.

As for Beast, I have a 2/2/4 Beast, and I didn't push too hard for his covers (I missed at least one PVP reward and one PVE progression reward). Beast is terrible, but enough covers of him have been given out for him to be usable in the PVE.

Yes, having two events that don't let you (and I) casually pulverize weaker rosters definitely means your high-level roster is an utter waste of energy. That's clearly what's happening here.

The worst part is in order for me to finish the last 3 nodes of this [horrible, least favorite] PVE I have to spend on boosts to speed up the ol' turbo-powered BWGS sniper rifle. Spending on boosts in PVE makes me cringe, especially when there's double-ISO to be had, but at this point it's a necessary evil. Daken in this PVE is too hard to take down with this limited roster. My best config so far is BWGS, 2*Thor, 2*Cap, for both goon and mixed nodes. Boost +3 to Black/Green, Blue/Purple, Red/Yellow gets me to sniper fast enough.

I know a lot of people are gonna hate me for this but I'm actually happy the pvp is combine arms because for once you won't see those high 1800 plus points on the leader ship table and people transitioning from 2* can actually get a chance to get a first place prize.

There seem to be several times that you turn the game on but cant play like:

Limited roster events: no character no play
Health Packs: Either pay or switch off. If you make a gold Health pack that never runs out but cost like $50 bucks I would buy it, surely that is fair, you buy whole working amazing games for $50!
Bad rewards: The same characters keep getting trotted out like painted harlots while there is no reasonable way to get covers for:
Rubber banding: no need ot play the first two events of PVE at all as it means absolutely nothing
Not enough events: some events you are just not interested in like combined arms or venom for example.
no event except basic PVE: Some days you turn the game on and there is only the starting PVE available.

I really don't understand why you actively make barriers to entry. Why you have situations where you are better off to log out and not play than to just keep playing. I just flat out don't get it.

at least 'they' could do is keep all the event tokens anniversary... but noooo just when everyone was quite happy initially now are all disappointed. It was special for a day or two and then it was ruined..

*shrug* It's a reasonable enough frustration, and not really something to get sarcastic in response about.

Hell, I'm pretty sure I voted for CA myself in the FB poll, then (as a transitioning player) had to get rid of my 1*s to make room for luckily obtained 3*s. Having gotten rid of my 1*s, I then became mildly irritated that CA won a poll that I myself voted for. This meant I had to delete someone, or buy up a roster slot to allow for a 1* - fine, whatever, bought a couple of slots, and 1*s are a dime a dozen, I had an Iron Man and BW set up in a couple of days.

But I don't think it's particularly unreasonable to find CA irritating, given the rest of this game is designed for improved rosters, and I'd wager most people get rid of their 1*s first, if they need the space, and don't have HP for a slot.

I usually appreciate your overly rational replies, but this just seems unnecessarily snarky for, what I'd say, is a justified annoyance*. Even if the OP found the reply amusing.

* Which isn't a comment about CA as an event itself. I really enjoy playing it, hence... voting for it. But I can understand the frustration of needing 1*s for it.

Hehe, fair enough. All the other forum raging going around and the general tone of the OP probably made the silly hyperbole of "completely wasted time and money" more facepalmy than it was. I personally find CA irritating when I care about points -- BoP, too, to a lesser extent, so I do get the frustration.

That said, I'm truly at a loss as to why a thumber on my comment finds he can't compete even with maxed 1*s and 2*s.

P.S. - Now we all know who to blame for foisting the horror of CA upon us.

I think this comment was a bit premature. But it is nice feasting on 50 point matches, if you are able. Believe me I have been where you are and it was rough. Just keep grinding and you will get past this phase.

I partly agree with what you are saying about Venom: Heroic being one of the most boring PVEs ever and a poor choice to run this week.

But, you have a very special way to link everything to being a waste of money. This is what makes me enjoy your posts, because despite your disappointments in the game (some of which I agree), there is always this conspiracy theory connected to your arguments

However, apart from PVE which I arleady said is just not the right one for celebrating, CA was chosen by us (Meaning those people that got to vote in FB), so there is no argument here of how they screwed us up. The screwing appears on the rewards though, which they came out and said it was a mistake (at least for the tokens).

Like you I made a huge rage thread about some similar dislikes I have about some stuff. All we can do is wait for the next rotation of rewards and hope they are the ones we need. If not, we must still play because our alliance members will need them.

Yes, the rewards are ****. But do it for the ISO & HP. This Anniversary event is dropping HP & ISO like crazy. I only have IM35 1* and can still compete enough to decent ISO.
