How to re-implement environments

The most disappointing consequence of Team-Ups being added to the game is that the different environments are now purely cosmetic.

I suggest making the environments slightly favor certain tiles colors. For example, you might have the color of every 20th tile falling from the top of the screen be guaranteed to be a specific color. Or every 50th. Increasing the likelihood of a color by a small percentage (but not noticeably boosting the chance of it falling en masse), you let players consider the environment the way they used to, but without the ridiculous consequences of say, Modern Storm + Desert/Forest.

City - yellow
Forest - red
High-tech - purple
Latveria - black
Winter - blue
Desert - green

  • Or simply give each stage a 50% match damage boost in the color scheme you posted. Adds strategy if you're going to be prioritizing or denying certain colors on certain stages. Add damage boosts to increase the effect.
