My current event "bracket"

I'm not sure what happened, but for the Widow tournament I'm matched up with mostly lvl 60-90s. Why the sudden change? I have a team of lvl 30s. Is there a reason why I was moved way up and cannot win any matches?

  • Your mmr is too high.

Or in other words, you've won too much (relatively speaking) for the team you have so congrats on that.

But until the match making gets an update/grade it may sadly be time for you to tank so you can get your mmr back down and find opponents with teams that are more so similar to yours.
  • Oh, so I guess I have to just get horrible rank in the next few events. icon_e_confused.gif

Well yes, probably but strictly speaking that's not how you tank. To the best of my knowledge it's the losses that matter, not where they put you.
  • So I have to deliberately lose matches then... Oh boy. I guess I could do that before I sleep.

Also, is the MMR for regular PvP the same as with Events? If so I can more easily make all of my characters die in regular PvP to tank my MMR.

Build up some points, then put in the most hideously awful team you can muster, and lose a match on purpose.

This is the best way, make others do the work for you. But I've found it works even if you don't build up points. If I know I'm tanking a tourney (based on placement rewards) I'll join asap and put in a horrible team. Then at some slow point (night here in the Western US is great) I'll grind up to any progress rewards I want, then put the tanking team back in.

I'm on record saying I hate doing this and I do feel bad but I won't stop. During the recent tourneys I've actually participated in (3***, maybe no holds barred, can't remember now) I haven't been hit once while my A team is in (and haven't finished lower than second place). It's a grind doing well in the tourneys I want to do well in because all my opponents are low on the food scale but it beats mmr hell and crazy retaliations 24/7.
