I have put together an offensive roster that I do alright with, but I still get slaughtered toward the end of PVP... I have tried a few defensive combinations, but can't settle on the "best" one.

I've got around 20k ISO, but I can make more and level up some of these guys... was wondering who your defensive team would be? I know it depends some on who the featured 3rd is, but in general, who would be the best deterrent combo, or give me the best chance at surviving an attack?

The guys I typically put up are some combo of:

LVL - Char - Covers
161 - Thor - 3/3/5
129 - Fury - 0/5/3
106 - Hulk - 4/2/5
103 - Hood - 5/5/3
98 - XF Wolv - 2/2/3
92 - Psylocke - 5/3/3
90 - Sentry - 5/5/2
86 - SRCap - 3/2/3
82 - ClMag - 5/1/5
81 - ClDaken -3/3/4

Most commonly I put up Thor because of the high level, and usually either Hood or Fury... I seem to get attacked less with Hood, but seem to win more often with Fury. I'm wondering if it's worth it to keep bumping one of them up, or put more into Sentry, Hulk, or someone else?

  • Looking at your roster, you should definitely use Hood in your defense team whenever possible, paired with either Thor, Sentry or Fury. The featured 3rd will be the deciding factor so try to consider if you have any skill colors that would overlap.

Adding a few more levels to Sentry will intimidate some players so you might get skipped more. Smart attackers will often target Hood to stop the AP drain, so giving him more levels will give your heavy hitter more time to build up a devastating attack.

    Good luck!

Also, I have another question... what exactly do I have to do to "set" my defensive roster? Do I actually have to play a match with that team? Can I just enter the team member select screen and back out? Check the leaderboards, etc? Thanks!

To set a defense team, you have to play and win with that team in the specific event. So you can have 2 different defense teams in Sentry pvp compared to shield simulator for example. If you have trouble winning with your defense team, it can be worthwhile to bring in boosts for that last battle before you take a break, especially if you go unshielded. This defense team will be what people see when they queue you up in a node.

Thanks Panda... Will go Thor/Hood for now and try to pump ISO into Hood. After that I may try to bring Sentry up.
