When are you going to open your tokens?

In about a week from now Daredevil, Doctor Doom, Human Torch (Classic), Loki, Ragnarok, Wolverine (Patch) and Punisher shall be taking up to a month off from being in the main token pool, with some unknown form of rotational return in the following seasons.

Beast, Captain Marvel, Colossus, Deadpool, Doctor Octopus and She-Hulk will be making their debuts, for a minimum of one season; after this, who knows - I would guess from Season 8, we'll start seeing a random mix coming and going in each rotation.

If you have some tokens stashed up, when are you going to open them? What factors will you take into consideration? How do you see this impacting your future token opening?

    Everyone I currently need will be in the packs come next Friday, so I'm opening all of them - 560+ standards, 113 heroics, 4 heroic 10-packs, plus whatever I get between now and then - that weekend. There's just no point in waiting any longer than that. After that I'll open them as I get them, unless and until we hit another backlog point.

    I don't just want the covers, I want the ISO. There's over 100k ISO hidden in those things.

    I'm with Ben - as soon as I see those packs have updated, I'm opening all mine. The 2 covers each that I need for Daredevil and HT just can't compare with all the other 3*'s being added in. Plus for the remaining cast of 3*'s that avoided being cut, I still need 10 different covers (Storm, Lazy Daken, a single BP for re-spec, a couple others). So my odds of getting a usable cover goes from being about 7% to about 12% (including the 4*'s).

    I need everything - including the ones taken out, sadly - so I'll be cracking them all open.

    The only characters that I currently need covers for are the recent releases, but if they go and give Dr. Doom, Loki & Ragnarok interesting 3rd powers then I might save some tokens until they return to the draw pool in season 8. I can't really see myself using Beast or Dr. Octopus on purpose, compared to how often I play Villain Lightning Rounds.

    Personally I'm waiting until the next rotation. The only heroes I need/want in the first rotation is Deadpool. All of the other covers in the first rotation I have at most 4 covers of while Psylocke, Punisher, LCap, 3* HT, Hulk, and even IM40 I have 7-10 covers. Just sucks I have to wait a month to open the tokens for 2*'s.

    I'm opening them cos I want Punisher and Patch covers.

    Once the new tokens are out I'll open my stockpile (couple hundred Standards, 50+ Heroics). Since I'm maxed on Doom and Rags, have 12 - 13 covers on Torch, Patch and Punisher (even if not my final preferred spec), and very seldom use Doom and Loki this is about as good of rotation as I'll ever see to minimize getting Gold tokens that I don't need. I'd love to get Captain Marvel, Deadpool and Colossus to a playable state, and the other new ones at least good enough that when they are featured in PvP or PvE they will be able to make a decent contribution.

    I only have that single 900 pts Starfall token and 2 10-packs for Season 6. Will open them Oct 17th, too, need me 1 purple Deadpool and 1 yellow Marvel (The Valeyard wrongly believes her best build is 5/5/3 while it's obviously 3/5/5 icon_razz.gif). The rest I couldn't care much about.

    Wouldn't it make sense to wait until the next rotation? Assuming the new characters stay in and they rotate out older ones, you'd also be getting a chance at the 3*s that get their third cover (Doom, etc)... This is also assuming that they are able to 3 cover them in time for the next rotation...

    That makes sense if they release them with new covers in the next rotation, but that's a really, really big if. Given how low priority third covers have been for them for a while now, I'd guess 2-3 months minimum until we see them (though I"d be happy to be wrong on this).

    Incidentally, I wouldn't be surprised if Bullseye gets one around the same time.

    Even though I do need some covers to respec cap marv, now that they finally gave away DP covers, I have no incentive to open for this new wave. Who cares about beast and these other terrible new releases?

    I'm probably going to save my 9 10-packs and who knows how many 2-fer event tokens for whenever Lady thor is released. which will probably be like twice as many by then
