I have various 3* at 99-120 and 100k iso. What to do?

Wondering if I continue to level a bunch of guys, or max one of them? Will the game see I have one max 3* and then start throwing all max level teams at me? Or does it look at average level of my roster?:

My roster currently:

Cap 3-5-5 - Level 120
Thor 5-2-5 - Level 120
Daken 4-5-1 - Level 120
X-Force 1-5-2 - Level 120
Hood 3-5-5 - Level 114
Patch 4-2-5 - Level 105
Falcon 5-5-3 - Level 99
Hulk 5-3-5 - Level 99
BP 5-5-2 - 99
Psylocke 2-5-5 - 99
IM40 3-5-3 99
Doom 4-3 99
Fury 4-2-1 99
Torch 2-4-5 95
Spidey 2-5-5 89
BWGS 3-3-4 78
DD 5-1-2 78
Doc Oc 3-1-2 78
Storm 1-5-3 76
Loki 4 76
Punisher 5-3-3 75
Sentry 4-5-4 70
CMags 1-2-1 55

I have just had Sentry and Spidey boosted a lot from covers one in the PVE, so wondering if I get them up to everyone else's level, or pump one guy up to max.

Any help gratefully received!

  • Generally the 3* threads don't get as many replies because there aren't as many safe replies, and it's so much more work to go through each of the characters sub-optimal powers. It depends mostly on the player's play style which differs drastically, as well as the different teams you use. What are the different teams you use right now? Are there any characters you never use? Do you play more PVE or more PVP? Are you trying to balanced level your characters?

If you level single characters up, you can possibly do better in PVP. If you balanced level characters up, it's less of a hinderance in PVE.
  • Thanks for the response daibar. I guess I tend to play PVE more than PVP. With PVP I get to 500 for my Alliance and then tend to stop, as I can't work PVP and PVE well together.

I am growing to enjoy playing with X-Force, and Daken a lot as well. Previously Cap had been in 99% of my teams but I seem to be using him less and less recently. Not sure why, maybe boredom.

In a perfect world I would like to use Doom a lot more. Love that guy, but oddly the developers cba with him so I assume putting more ISO into him is a waste.

I see the likes of Spidey/Punisher/CMags talked about loads on here but I either don't have the covers (CMags) or don't seem to be able to use the effectively (Spidey and Punisher) to have them on my teams much.

I'm not an expert on this, don't even got a 166, but I can say that if you play more PVE LCap is the way to go, but I think top-tier chars. are a better investment.

It looks like your A team is cap and hood. you can also beef up Patch becuase even at 4 green with 5 yellow he will be good for climbing and if he tanks a lot of colors with regenerate. Just remember Patch is going out of the Heroic packs for a month so you won't get any more for a while. If you want to take a big jump in one though just pump your ISO into Sentry. He is the cream of the 3* crop and you can run him with Daken or Hood at the end of PVP. It will keep lower people from attacking, but you will still get squished by the bigger players.

My advice would be to bring Sentry up to par and then go back to hoarding.

100K doesn't go very far, unfortunately. If you prefer PVE, I would probably continue to creep up your characters in groups - pick who you like to play the most and bring them up together. That's what I've been doing. I got a block of characters at 153 (the max with 12 covers, since some of them have only 12 covers,) another group at 127, another at 111, and some at 97 - I will bring my characters up from one to the other. For your specific characters I'd focus on the ones who you enjoy playing the most, the ones who are most powerful, and the ones who are optimally built. Your LCap is the optimal build. Your Thor isn't, since yellow is much better than Red. Your Hood is not optimal, but definitely good enough - blue is by far his most important skill. Your Falcon is optimal, but he's strictly a support character so he can do his job pretty well where he is.

Incidentally, if you have a character with an odd-numbered level, you'll gain a bit when they give you a half-again boost (i.e. Featured character PVP boost.) It's actually half-again rounded up.

I would level Sentry and Hood (levelling Hood will mean that he tanks more damage but makes him more of a PvP defensive deterrent) - your build for Hood makes him a great partner for Sentry (5 black for Hood is great with World Rupture) and Sentry is one of the best characters in the game right now. Although it sounds like Sentry will be nerfed soon. When you can I would go 3/5/5 build for Sentry but 4/5/4 is still ok

Your Patch is borderline and with another green cover would be a strong candidate to level due to his regen / sustained pushing potential

Thor is a great character but you need more yellow covers before he is worth building up (best build is 3/5/5)

Daken needs another purple cover before levelling - once he has this then he would be worth levelling up and also you could level Falcon who combos very well with him (and you have Falcon in a good build). You can keep Falcon levelled below Daken so that Daken tanks 5 colours for Falcon which allows very good sustained pushing (Daken takes almost all the damage and keeps healing) - just be careful of attacking a Hulk team with this line up as you will end up enraging him

You have Lazy Cap in his best build and he is great at PvE but he is not so strong in PvP and so I would save the iso for the moment as you have others with better potential
  • Perfect, thanks guys, exactly the advice I was looking for. Will push Sentry up to the level of the other top guys and then see how things go in terms of getting Thor/Daken/other covers before throwing more iso around.
