Nothing to see here. Working as intended.

Can you argue a little more? I really don't get it (even in the money cow philosophy...)
  • Which 3* we talking about? As every one is on an entirely different power level. Weaker ones would give you a much harder time against other 3* teams.

Here's what I remember. When I first started I had the hardest time in PvE events. I didn't have the roster or the levels and this was before it was more friendly to new comers. So I started doing LR's and PvP and was having good success. I was getting 2* covers which is all I hoped for, and lots of packs and ISO, so I kept getting my 2*'s stronger and started to push further and further into PvP until I just couldn't get past top 200. So I started to focus on PvE, guess what, it was so much easier now, I was scoring in the top 100 and getting 3 stars and rounding out my 2's. Overtime PvE kept getting easier, but PvP was getting harder, so I just stopped that all together until I had some seriously strong and maxed out 3*'s. Punisher, Patch were my first 2, then Captain, then Thor, all of a sudden I"m scoring top 100 in PvP getting more covers.

It sort of ebbs and flows that way. If you are hitting a wall in PvP, it is intended, you have 3 choices. Grind it out, or focus on PvE, or spend some HP on your guys. Eventually you are going to get enough characters to be able to deal with those PvP matches that were giving you trouble. That is the nature of the game, patience will get you everything you want, but if you want it now, you are going to have to fork over $ instead of your time.

    Truer words and such.

We just discussed this in chat. Pve's are designed for less than top tier rosters to be successful. That's the way to build until during enough to compete for top rewards in PvP.

I'm right there with you, so you're not alone. I used to score high enough to win new characters in PvE until the release of Lazy Daken. I quit the game for 2 months, came back and was able to win Captain Marvel and a She-Hulk Cover, but have not been able to score high enough to win Beast, Lazy Storm, Deadpool, Colossus and I surely won't be able to get Dr. Oct.

I would also say define winning. If you keep loosing matchups your MMR will lower and you will get easier teams to beat. If you are defining winning as getting top 10, 25, 50, 100 that is a different story. PVP is about can you achieve the right score. You either need to have a big time scary defense Sentry, Daken/Hood. Be really good at climbing fast with true healers Patch, LDaken. Lastly you probably need to spend some HP on shields and shield hopping. One trick is open the event right away and look at 3 seed teams but don't start the battle. Wait till there is 24hrs left maybe a little more then open the even. You get to take on the seed teams and then start attacking real players. The later you join you will be able to see more people worth more points and are less likely to be retaliated against.

PVE is all about timing. First you need the essentials characters and then you need to play close to every 2.5 hours (est) In the DA heroic I am basicly doing the essentials only and will win most likely top 20 if I decide to grind it out at the end. In the regular story PVE's if you grind down the nodes before you go to bed you should still have solid placement the next morning. PVE is about some grinding and playing smarter.

    I hope this helps

I'm having my own ups and downs over my short career and current transition from 2* to 3*. Three recommendations I can make to really accelerate your progress:

    1. "Grind the lightning" rounds (LRs) (affectionately named in tribute to Metallica). Set your alarm so that you can join in the first minute and grind the easy seed fights. I fight them with Ares + OBW, nothing special, just a fast killer team. You can average 1k-2k ISO per 2 hours on these LRs, over the 48 hours available. I've grinded all 24 rounds over 2 days some weeks and it comes out to about a take of 55k ISO -- yeah you get little sleep, but hey. This helps you level your characters much, much faster. I can take a 2* from lvl 35 to 94 in 2 days of LRs when including other iso gained through general play. Do one 2* a week.

    2. Join a top 100 alliance. Once you have a few maxed 2*, this should be possible. Many alliances don't care about rosters, just results. Aim for a PVP score of 600 (there are other tips on the forum how to do better in PVP so i'll leave comment on this for another time). It can be a pressure at times to perform, but the alliance covers you'll get accelerate your transition by 33-50% (you get one extra cover to add to your hopefully 1 or 2), depending on whether you are finishing top25 or top 100 as a player.

    3. Join Facebook and friend as many of the MPQ community as possible. I don't use FB for anything but MPQ, but at the request of an alliance mate, I friended him so we could share ISO when the random opportunities come up. Next thing you know, I get some more friend requests, then some more.. and more and more, until I have 500 MPQ friends. And these gifts add up. I will often get 7-10 gifts per day of 70, 140, or 250 ISO, or covers. It probably averages out to about 500-1000 ISO per day, plus the 200 alliance ISO. That's 700-1200 ISO per day for doing nothing, really. It truly hastens your transition.

Edit: I should add that you want to set your Facebook avatar/icon to be a picture of something from MPQ. This way, people will know for sure that you are someone they can share iso with. If your FB icon is a photo of your cat, people might overlook you. After that just sit back and confirm all your friend requests and you'll have several hundred friends in a few weeks, or less.

    Good luck!

I can't agree with this one enough. As a steam player who can't link his account to facebook, I LOVE the amount of ISO I have gained since...........oh, wait. icon_e_confused.gif

    "Time heals all wounds".

While your waiting, enjoy trying to figure out how to get better. Love it or leave it but, this game is infinitely playable, unlike many games. icon_e_biggrin.gif

As long as you don't mind being put on the bench for 4+ hrs per stretch while your characters heal, that is.
