Exactly. And his third ability is kind of his power ability. It’s the one that does a little bit more direct damage, but it does a little bit of everything. So his Green ability is called Armed and Dangerous. It does four different things that he’s capable of doing with his tentacles all at once. First he deals damage, he then stuns one of the enemies for a turn, then he reduces AP, and then after that he destroys enemy Countdown Tiles. So, he does all four of those things every time he uses the ability. It takes a little bit extra AP, but it’s always pretty powerful and pretty varied in what it can do.

So is the entire forumbase wrong and undervaluing the ability, or are the devs significantly overvaluing the ability? I find it interesting how disparate opinions can be between the devs and us regarding characters.

I don't think either is happening.

I think their balance is considered on a global basis, i.e. how does this character fair against all other characters, or maybe even just a subset. This generally makes sense if you had more events like the Simulator/Gauntlet, with arrays of teams to counter. Loki also counters special tile users, but it's a niche market. In reality, we all know that for PvP, how Doc Ock counters Storms' Hailstorm is mostly irrelevant when Sentry-Daken-Hood are the only characters worth much to the top tier. Further, when you run event after event fighting the Dark Avengers, it still doesn't matter how Doc counters Hailstorm, because you face nothing but jacked up Daken/Juggs/Ares/Venom after a while.

So on the surface, his green is probably a good power. 3 stun, 5 AP drain, CD destroy and AoE damage is decent range. But compare it to a Sentry or Thor, and you laugh uncontrollably.

I see Doc Oct as some one who can be very anoying in PVE when he is fed green and blue from goons. When he is buffed and gets 12 green in 3-4 turns he will do AOE damange and stun one of the players characters and do an AP drain. He won't be as annoying as Juggs or Rags with 6 AP abilities, but think about how annoying Moonstone is on PVE. You save her till last becuase you think she can't hurt you and then you get hit with her Purple and you have no special tiles out, or she hits you with her red and you take big damage. Doc won't be scary in PVP, and the player base will probably choose not to use him very much in PVE, but as a villian in PVE with the right combination he should be annoying. I have to imagine that when the Dev's are making villians they think about how does this person fit as a villian in PVE with goons feeding him AP. Rags, Juggs, Venom get really annoying in PVE when they are buffed becuase of their cheep abilities and when they are high level it is even worse. With Doc Oct I assume that they have increased his cost expecting goons to feed him Green and Blue.

I also think the Dev's are looking at ways to introduce new powers that do different things. They are trying to keep things fresh and different and make it so characters are not redundant. I appriciate the efforts and think Doc's blue and black are really interesting. My advise to the Dev's K.I.S.S. Keep It Sweet and Simple! 2 new different powers is enough Green should do 1500 damage to all and destroy 6 random tiles that generates AP. Why 6 because he has 6 metal arms to attack with.

Good day, Mary. Suggestions about end times have been posted elsewhere. Also, we are under no obligation to come up with solutions. It's not like we'd get a commission for making a suggestion they use. It's up to the devs, not the playerbase, to address the known issues.
Yes, I'm well aware of the myriad array of "solutions" that forumites provide with varying degrees of thought, about issues real and imaginary. RiO drew a distinction between merely not fixing the issue and going above & beyond to "take a sharp point stick to poke at that sore spot." He followed up by clarifying with little more than "well, they should try our suggestions while they're figuring out their solution." I was originally inquiring about what that distinction could be, but thank you for educating me about what players do (apparently, they play?) and what devs do (apparently, they dev?).

Ah ****. Might as well just get rid of him then.
