Public Service Announcement from Doctor Doom

Good day to you, D3Publisher and MPQ players,

It has been brought to my attention that you have been using my likeness without my permission. You may be under the impression that you have acquired the rights to the use of my image from those scoundrels at Marvel but I have taken it upon myself to personally correct your misunderstanding.

I am not an unreasonable man. I have played your game and I will admit it is enjoyable if not at times frustrating. Of course, as a work in progress (it is a work in progress, isn't it?) it is not without its flaws. However, there is one flaw that stands above them all and that would of course be the representation of my person.

Ladies and Gentlemen, do you know who I am?

No matter how much I reflect on the matter, I cannot grasp how you could allow such a gross oversight as to leave my representation so weak and useless. My spies who have infiltrated your forums and your workplace have reported to me that at best I was seen as a support character for the Wakandan leader T'Challa (better known as Black Panther) who in fact rejected my own offer of an alliance between our respective countries. What sort of mockery is this?

Gentlemen and ladies, do you not know who I am?

To add insult to injury, you give the progeny of that mutant Wolverine, Daken, a third ability while you leave my representation to rot in the second tier abyss!? Are not the cascades that reign terror upon your precious game players called "cascades of Doom"? Your own users invoke my name when tragedy falls upon them and yet you choose to remain blind to my true power?

I am Doctor Doom.

I will no longer tolerate your insults. The infinity boosts I have given to those who have sworn allegiance to me is only just the beginning. I will continue to increase the frequency of the cascades of Doom for those who would oppose me and if my polite request is not met in a timely manner I shall reward my followers with infinity health packs.

I am not unmerciful. I understand you are busy, you have wives and families you need to take care of and feed. So I have taken it upon myself to present you with a gift, a token of my generosity and goodwill. Here is what the my third power shall be:

Triumph and Torment - Yellow 9 AP
Doctor Doom blasts his enemies with photon beams from his fingertips. One selected yellow tile is destroyed, clearing the column and dealing 350 damage. No AP generated.
Level Upgrades

Level 2: 2nd yellow tile clears row, tile damage increased to 400.
Level 3: 3rd yellow tile clears another column, tile damage increased to 450.
Level 4: 4th yellow tile clears another row, tile damage increased to 500.
Level 5: 5th yellow tile clears another column, tile damage increased to 600.


Do not test my patience, D3Publisher. If you are going to use my image, show it the respect and reverence it deserves. I will forgive you for including those lesser "doctors" on the start screen, I know you Americans like that sort of corny "humor". But I must insist this issue be given top priority.

To my followers and supporters, know that the Era of Doom is at hand. If they fail to meet their end of the bargain, infinite life shall be yours! And to my would-be saboteurs and enemies, I only have one question for you:

What will you do when Doctor Doom comes for you?

Oh mighty Doom,

While the insult to you is obviously the most shameful of all, do you know that some of your greatest enemies (who are no REAL threat to you), are overshadowed by relatively unknown people as well?

In a game about Marvel, who would be 2nd tier? I ask this obviously because you alone stand in tier one. Thor the Asgardian Prince? Hulk, the second most powerful doctor on earth? Any Avenger, X-Man, or member of the Fantastic Four?

No, my liege. We have a criminal named the Hood, a mentally unstable unknown named the Sentry, and the bastard son of Wolverine, Daken.

Who are these cretins? I had never heard of them before MPQ, and I feel that most would share that sentiment. Should not the players of a Marvel game aspire to have the greatest that Marvel has to offer? But no, this is not to be. The most famous, the most loved, are forced to take a backseat to these upstarts.

Now that the wise and powerful Doom has come to us, perhaps you can change this?
