a new thought

Hey, here's a new thought - ISO if you lose a round in one of the tournaments. I.e. during the avengers tournament you decide to attack the guy with the 141 IM40, 85 thor and 141 Grey Suit BW. Instead of simply losing and getting nothing - you walk away with a small amount of ISO for trying. Maybe 10 or 20 or if you are really generous 35. That way there is an incentive to knock down the big players.

Thoughts?

  • Wouldn't really do anything. The incentive to gain tournament points and to gain more Iso by winning would far outweight any consolation prize for loosing, and would just lead to people farming loss rewards with level 1 teams, or by yielding.

Could make it so retreating and yielding give nothing, so it would actually take time to "loss farm"
  • It would be more to have people use their lesser characters (i.e. very low levels).
  • This only works if there's also a much bigger reward for taking down players of much higher level. Otherwise, you're much better off taking on someone of your own level you know you can beat, rather than someone you likely won't beat -- the consolation prize isn't worth the time that you'd otherwise spend beating someone easier.

Now, consolation prizes for impossible PvE missions, that would be interesting -- you already have high incentive to do them since they're usually worth tons of ranking points, but a lot of people just look and say, 240/240/240, not gonna try. If you had, say, a limited number of small consolation prizes (say 100 iso, 5 health pack, 3 health pack), you might encourage people to at least try.
