Posibility of a new kind of lighting rounds?

Lighting rounds features five 3 stars villians, Loki, Magneto, Ragnarok, The Hood and Dr. Doom.
Now, with the addition of Hulk, we have five 3 stars "heroes", Hulk, Punisher, Iron Man, Black Widow and Spider-Man.
Do you think it's possible a new kind of lighting rounds? May be the kingdom of fear of 2 red AP is coming to the end... icon_eek.gif

I've had the same thought. icon_mrgreen.gif

It would be very nice, though on paper Punisher + Black Widow +Hulk (for Sniper Shot greens) together would seem rather dominant.
(I'm tempted to gloss over Spider-Man, just because a 3* hero team has damage threat from everyone but Spider-Man so stun-locking any single character isn't necessarily a trump.)
At the very least it would be new characters to level, and heroic ones may all be powered-up in events in the future too.
  • Please god no. Seriously. They give out all those covers like hotcakes in the non-lightning rounds. I want something special for lightning rounds not more of the same. Until they have a set of new villains or something I say just keep lightning rounds as is. It's been what, a week hulk has been out? I have a 3/1/1 already with no money spent and no luck on draws. I can only imagine what others have. 2/3/3 with a red cover sitting. Again, with no luck on.draws or.money spent...again I can only.guess what others must have. I don't have an issue with hero lightning rounds, but making it take up the villain.ones.seems like a mistake to me unless it has nearly ex elusive and new heroes for said hero lightning rounds. Not the same old same old.

    NECRO THE THREAD!!!

Seriously, I just didn't want someone to say this has been suggested already if I started a new thread.

    So currently we have:
Villains Lighting Round (Doctor Doom, The Hood, Loki, Magneto, & Ragnarok)
Heroes Lighting Round (Black Widow, The Hulk, Iron Man, Punisher, Spider-Man, & Wolverine)
Not in a Lighting Round (Beast, Black Panther, Captain America, Captain Marvel, Colossus, Daken, Daredevil, Deadpool, Doctor Octopus, Falcon, Human Torch, Psylocke, Sentry, She-Hulk, Storm, Thor.)

Can we please get some new Lighting Rounds...
Here are a few suggestions (often including both active & former members).

Heroes for Hire Lighting Rounds (Black Panther, Black Widow, Falcon, Punisher, Spider-Man, & She-Hulk)
Fantastic Force Lighting Rounds (Black Panther, Human Torch, & She-Hulk)
Fantastic Four Lighting Rounds (Human Torch, Black Panther, Captain Marvel, She-Hulk, & Storm)
Defenders Lighting Rounds (Beast, Colossus, Daredevil, Hulk, She-Hulk, & Falcon)
Lady Liberators Lighting Rounds (Black Widow, She-Hulk, & Storm)
Marvel Knights Lighting Rounds (Black Widow, Daredevil, & Punisher)
Secret Avengers Lighting Rounds (Beast, Black Widow, Captain America, Black Panther, Human Torch, Punisher, Spider-Man, & Wolverine.)
Lazy Lighting Round (Captain America, Human Torch, Thor, Daken, & Storm)
Mutant Lighting Rounds (Beast, Colossus, Daken, Deadpool, Magneto, Psylocke, Storm, & Wolverine)
Doctor Lighting Rounds (Beast, Doctor Doom, Doctor Octopus, The Hulk, & Iron Man)
Avengers Lighting Rounds (Iron Man, Captain Marvel, Spider-Man, Thor, Wolverine, Beast, Black Panther, Black Widow, Captain America, Falcon, Hulk, Sentry, & She-Hulk.)
  • Why not just pull out a trusty d20 and randomize it each week?

No one trusts the D20. That die is evil.
  • My idea: make LRs a little more frequent - for the short term, change them from two days a week in a row, change them to three times a week, broken up (something like Monday noon to Tuesday noon, Wednesday-Thursday, Friday-Saturday). M-T is always (current) Villains; W-Th always heroes, F-S either a new batch (the next 5 or 6 heroes introduced after Hulk, I think BP, DD, LazyCap, HT, LazyThor, Psylocke, not in that order) or rotating themes along the lines of what's above.

I'd also probably also incorporate some token changes along with that, but that's my pet issue right now, so I won't get into it.

This is actually just propaganda spewed by the D12. He has such resentment.

That actually is a great idea. For a lot of us, LRs are inconvenient because mid-week, they clash with work, yet they are such a useful ISO generator, it sucks to be only able to participate in a few over the three days. Having some more regular, short-term events going regularly would provide a nice change from the long PVE grinds and 2.5 day PVPs that dominate the rest of the schedule.

Maybe they could do a mini-gauntlet or similar event on a regular basis. Set it for one with progressive rewards. Do as much or as little as you want over the course of, say, two days. Then the player can do a couple of nodes at a time as their schedule permits. It doesn't have to be as long and complicated as the Gauntlet, either. Just something with progressive prizes only that is not dependent on an end time and rankings.
