The cynic in me says they just wanted to see how manu health packs they can sell from people pushing the finale.

But that contradicts the idea to extend it, to an extent.

After hearing this argument so many times, I give up: you guys have convinced me. From now on, any time d3 releases a new character or event, I'm just going to say "d3's only releasing new and interesting content because they want more people to buy health packs".

I'd bet that they've gotten a good amount of participation (thus, it is in fact popular) but not that much completion.
Yes, I was assuming the same thing. And I'm also assuming that the lack of completion has less to do with people needing more time and more to do with people realizing it wasn't worth pursuing.

To whatever degree each is, this is why we've had the extension - the infamous metrics will be showing them that starting rates have been high, but completion rates will not be anywhere near and will be far far lower than a standard PvE.

On a side note, gotta agree with NP, the health pack sales argument is getting tiresome. There are many things about this game that need adjustment or explanation and health pack sales should be right towards the bottom of such a list.

There's going to be negativity towards anything D3 does, with the track record they've had, I get it. However, I think this event is great, it's something new, and it's actually a challenge! I've got a pretty stacked roster, and I'm still getting smashed. The extension gives me a chance to finish my last 6 nodes.

Also, I need none of the rewards, I'm playing the event because it's actually enjoyable!
  • The scaling kinda kicked my butt, but I'm down to the last essential, and that's told me something, namely, that the scaling, while difficult (sometimes VERY difficult) didn't present me with a challenge it was impossible to overcome. That being said, I had to (or at least did) Sentrybomb several nodes, and Whales! the last one, but the majority, even on the finale, I was able to beat conventionally, some on the first go, some taking 3 or 4 goes, none more.
  • This event would have been perfect if the rewards weren't so crummy. Now if there had been awesome 3-4* covers in every sub it would have been a 10/10. But with. 2* or undesirable 3* covers and ISO being the only reward I have to say 6/10. I'll give it another shot next time is run and hope for more worthwhile loot.

Yeah, I've been a chief offender on that one, but even I wouldn't go there here. Makes no sense. Who's going to buy health packs for a chance to win 100 iso?

Am I missing something? I am only seeing a 2-star Storm cover as the final reward. Are the rewards randomly generated? That's why I haven't bothered with this event.

Yes. There are 3 diffrent gauntlets each one opening after you complete the last non essential node.

There are 2 more subs that open up. Gauntlet Heroes (opened after you complete Villains) with a BP blue cover. Gauntlet Finale (after Heroes) with GSBW green cover and Psylocke black cover.

The other variable that will come into play in regards to metrics is that (I am assuming) people will largely (I think) not have done each simulation more than once. If they have, it will only be scattered and minimal.

So, I imagine the next time we see this, each area will be some amount shorter or similar but less prizes to encourage multiple attempts.

Low completion rates could be because 3 essential characters are needed. Perhaps reduce it to 2 essential characters next Gauntlet? Or let players complete all the nodes on the main line and the points accrued allow them to collect the essential character. In this case it would be BP. Then they can run essential nodes for further rewards. Still wont be easy but it'll have a lot more players bashing the wall to complete the Gauntlet in order to collect that Essential cover to complete all nodes and the last rewards.
  • Besides the scaling being a little bit on the high side, the actual event itself wasn't too bad considering you were literally playing against yourself and no one else, and with the last 2 PVP's offering rewards that aren't coveted by everyone, means more time and health packs to sink into this PVE...

Naturally adding the 3X 3* covers as rewards was also a nice touch, and since i was only after GSBW, that worked out rather well for me since i didn't have to stress trying to make sure i 100% completed every sub for the other 2 covers...

As a side note though, if the next time they run this event again, they cut down on the crazy AI levels, and maybe offer up some better rewards starting from the first sub, then it would be even more fun???

You need better rewards to do multiple attempts. Only a couple of nodes in Finale are not 300+ with the whole back end at maxed lvl. If we could pick the team ups I could hammer sim 34 for the Wind Storm ones which currently do 6K to team or try my luck at 8K Rage of the panthers with BP getting fed yellow for Muscle. But for chance of 500 ISO you can forget it.

Are you saying that team up farming isn't enough to go back?

Mostly joking, but I am repeating that fury node a few times - it should always be a good one.

I recommend you open a ticket from the in-game feature for this. Contacting support is your best chance for getting help. I don't think anyone can have any recommendation that can fix this. It is most certainly a bad sync between the Server and your Client. Depending on when your connection dropped, their database might have been in the middle of registering your stats. So it seems like it kept you points but discarded the rewards and nodes.

I dropped connection while clearing a node in a gauntlet. I was going to win as a I made a big cascade that filled up my Stormneto but then I got D/C and then crash. Next thing I know is Mags is down along with punisher and storm is at 300hp for some reason.

Anyway, I'd say the best way to go is directly contact Support from in game or maybe PM IceIX directly in the forums.

I'm quite glad to have the extra day! I'll never finish the whole thing with the scaling of the enemies compared to my roster, but I might have a chance of getting the gsbw greenflag.png at least
  • A few more days would have been even better. You could even start the new PvE and have them run together.

Considering one node kills many characters and it takes time to heal, more time would have been needed. No one would use health packs on this one since the rewards are not good enough.

Thank you. I was able to get a few more nodes and rewards. I've reached the Deadpools/OBW/Ares node and I just can't get past it. But since I don't need the icon_psylocke.pngblackflag.png I'll move on to the icon_hulk.png event.

I gotta say, I enjoyed this event. No need to worry about when to run through. Plenty of time to let health and packs regen. Scaling was challenging. The opposition was interesting. Good job, d3.
  • The extension allowed me to 100% node clear this event. blackflag.pngicon_psylocke.png for me, yay!
