Savegame lost

Hi,

I was playing Marvel Puzzle Quest on my computer (on Steam) and my computer crashed (auto-reboot, for some reasons...)
After that, all my progress were lost. It was like i was beginning a new game.

I don't really understand because I was guessing the savegames were on the Steam clouds. Are they locals ? How is that simply possible ? (especially for a pay-for-rewards game....)

Is it possible to get back my progress ? Steam is telling me that I played around 44 hours and it's a little bit annoying to start a fresh new game after that...
