The D3 To Do list

I propose that D3 start maintaining a To Do list. It would be at the top of News And Announcements as a sticky.

This would be a list of issues they are aware of. Maybe someday, they'll do something about them, like they've done with XForce, changing Hulk's Anger animation to be less nauseous, and many other fixes. Certain things get asked or reported frequently, and a To Do list would be like a FAQ of things still unanswered.

Proposed To-Do list

Things D3 is aware of
1. Sentry's World Rupture is used for ultra-short games.
2. Loki, Doom, Ragnarok, and Bullseye only have 2 covers.
3. Event times are hard for EU and Asia players.
4. Event nodes overuse Juggs, Daken, Bullseye, Moonstone, and Venom
5. There a disparity between tile damages and ability color orderings for Beast, BWGS, Captain Marvel, Daken, Deadpool, Doctor Doom, Loki, Magneto, Spiderman, IM40, and Hawkeye
6. Standard tokens don't include newer characters.
7. Transitioning from 2* to 3* is getting harder.
8. Countdown tiles ownership is sometimes ambiguous.

D3 would have complete control over their To Do list, and could change it any time they liked. They could put low-ranked characters on the To-Do list if they were under reconsideration. Sometimes player opinions change -- The Hood was once considered the second worst 3*, now he's top tier.

A good To Do list could remove half the upcoming questions. Some of these issues are complex and fixes for them haven't been engineered yet. I'd much rather see issues moved to a To Do list than waiting a month to see someone tap-dancing an unhelpful answer equivalent to "it's on our to-do list".

So... Make a Sticky To Do list in the News And Announcements area.

Here's that disparity list, redone with tiles. This one is especially tedious to explain and should be the easiest to fix if the tiles keep the same damage. The only effect on play would be to remove confusion for the multiple "strongest color" powers.

I dont really like this idea from demiurges perspective. Its annoying to maintain, and no good is going to come out of it because player expectations are way too high to begin with. Whats going to end up happening is that theyre not going to keep pace with what players perceive they should be going through the list as (see character balancing list and all the complaining we did about 7 months without a cmags nerf) and then ppl are going to constantly point at the list and complain that its not being fulfilled. I see no reason why a company would subject themselves to tbat when they can give nebulous answers on a dev qa ljke "its in the pipeline" and the hivemind eventually forgets about it.

Other ohtlets like a monthly dev qa seems like a much better solution than this for them.

I would like to see a review of some of the older characters abilities, especially AP costs for characters like IM40, so they can remain relevant.

Also every character that has a non true healing healing ability apart from OBW is largely useless. Some of the worst 3*s have such an ability and are a dead weight - Spidey, Beast, She-Hulk - their healing powers should be reviewed and should potentially work for a reduced AP cost or (preferably) be scrapped in favour of a better or more appropriate ability.

I disagree with Northern Polarity ... with the To Do list, IceIX or Demiurge Will could tweak it when they visited and blockquote it as they arrived, and there would be ten or so questions they wouldn't need to answer. Their impromptu Q&A sessions could be much easier.

They're delivering on promises more. Perhaps "To Do" isn't the best name.
  • One thing that should definitely be included is the ability to see what team-up a team is using either before or at the beginning of the battle. If D3 wants to stop people from accusing them of cheating, maybe they should be more transparent about such things.

When the enemy teams had 3 team-up powers, getting some transparency or something was crucial. Low level enemy teams were using high level Sentry powers.

    They worked on it
Enemies are now down to 1 team-up power, and they don't get Sentry's powers.

That was a very positive fix. Sure, might be good to be able to peek at the TU power that will be faced before a match. Alternately, more Team-up powers could be restricted.

If this suggestion was essentially to just sticky all of the red dev answers that they've posted, then sure, that seems like a good idea (although it's still annoying to maintain). What you're asking for though, is that they post a list of things to-do with the intent of fixing it, which I think is vastly different from that.
  • This is a community wishlist, not a D3 To-Do list.

You're trying to force their hand, which is stupid. Downvoted.

transitioning from 2* to 3* wouldn't be such a **** if they reverted lightning round rewards to what they used to be. LRs were my best bet to try and get 3 star villain covers, even if I just got a random villain LR token I still got my 3 star, now its these AWFUL tokens that give you a 2* most of the time which kinda pisses me off after fighting hard for at least an hour.

this is the one change they did that I am the most sour about and I think it should be reverted since 3 star covers aren't worth HP anymore.

This isn't a wish list. I'm not making any wishes. These are all valid issues with the game. So long as they are aware of issues, I'm happy. If they can do something about them, that's great. If they don't, that's fine -- but at least it'll be a few items the forum can stop asking about.

I like the idea as a way to keep the forums a little cleaner. Once something is in the list then any new thread about it can be closed quickly (it seems like there is a new "Sentry is OP" or "EU Players got Screwed" thread every other day). To enhance the idea, perhaps each item in the list would link to a single thread about that topic.

Perhaps to keep expectations realistic though, instead of it being a To-Do thread (implying action will be taken) it might be more of a Things-We-Are-Aware-Of thread?

I say make it more beneficial to dump money in to this game. i don't want to spend $50 and get like 20000 iso.It makes it tougher to update characters in that sense. Either make the level ups cheaper(cost for iso) or make it more beneficial to put money in.

That's not really a "To-Do List", then. It'd be a list of things they know some forumites don't like, regardless of whether such issues actually require "fixes."

Anytime they don't "fix" any To-Do list entry quickly enough for someone's liking, players could easily dismiss the entire To-Do List wholesale, which makes it useless. God forbid the s---storm that ensues when they really examine an issue, conclude that it really doesn't need a fix, and remove it from the To-Do List.

Regardless of anything else, no one reads pinned topics. The threads will still be made.

It's only hard for EU player. The event time are extremely easy for Asia players.

I am from Australia with AEST time and the end time is 2am/pm for pve and 3am/pm for pvp. So it is at least manageable. So if you are from Asia, the end time will be even better. End time for some one from Singapore for example will be 11am/pm. Some one from like Hong Kong would have 12pm/am ending time. You can't even ask for a better ending time for Asia player.

Never buy ISO. Cover upgrades are a good place to put those points if you don't need cover slots. ISO comes quick enough just by playing PvE, Sim, PvP, and LRs (up to 100 points). You can get 20k in a week from just that.
