When to stop leveling

Somehow my first reply didn't go through, so I'm sorry if this is a repeat.

One of the vets I discussed your comment with suggested that maintaining lower levels on your chars, as opposed to 166, limits PVE node difficulty from getting out of control. Does anyone else share this observation?

My questions here are intended to be separate from the topic of tanking, which I agree lowers node difficulty. This is a question of how character/roster level may additionally influence (PVP and/or PVE) node difficulty.

PvE scaling is somewhat of a mystery but it's likely a function of your past performance with a base that's related to your highest level character, so even if there's any clever level tricks you'd have to have nobody higher than level 166 on your roster and that's just impractical. To keep nodes under a very low level you'd need nobody over level 100 (e.g. 2* range) and you'd still need all your 3*s to be maxed covered since 3/3/3 3*s aren't even that great compared to 2*s, and even then this would only help if you've a lineup like the last Heroic Jugg where all but one of the 3* you're given sucks for the event. Normally, even for a heroic event having 3 usable 3*s at 166 would still more than makeup for any scaling tricks, and any generic event having access to all your 166s (or higher) easily trumps any scaling magic.

As a point of reference in the Deadpool event the highest node I saw was level 200 for Deadpool. That's quite easy when you can use every 166 in the game that you may have.
