Deadpool event: main rank dropping?

After the initial sub ended (with a weird 24 hours left in the main) I was in the top 300 in my shard. There is no way to continue to get points, right? Without another sub, we're all just sitting here, twiddling our thumbs until the event ends or another (extremely short) sub opens, right?

So now I'm out of the top 300. I dropped several places, which I only noticed because of the closeness of where I was and watching the reward closely. Is there some way to keep getting points that I am missing?

    There's a node on the main that opens up another sub.
