Roster question

Greetings friends. I'm just a casual player who happens to like this game, and I have quite a problem. First of all, here is my current team:




Now the problem I encounter is that...is there a point of me keeping 3* and 4* characters? It seems like without being a premium player, the chances of me getting 3* covers and leveling up these characters are non-existent, and I would guess that I will move on to another game before my 3* characters are useful. What say you? Especially, I heard that Invisible Woman is utter useless unless very high leveled, which I find the chance of me getting even a second cover for her impossible.

Since I have 16 slots anyways and won't buy more, I can afford to keep around a few 3* characters. Is there someone I don't have that I might want to replace a current 3* in the future?

You've got a bunch of HP, why wouldn't you buy more cover slots?

At any rate, collecting new covers and leveling characters p pretty much *is* the game, so yes, I would keep those characters. They are your long term goal. And while it is true that certain characters are not very good, it is always possible they will get changed.

But see, my problem is not about the slots. I will buy more when I get new characters, but my concern is that my 3* characters will always fall behind my 2* characters. So I can buy more slots for let's say, Punisher, but I'll never get enough covers for him to level him past 24 before I quit playing probably.

Another question I have is that several of my 2* characters can reach the 50s or even 80s. Should I focus on leveling 3 characters way high above the rest, or everyone as I can equally?

In your current situation I would maybe ditch invisible woman, the hulk, and iron man model 40.

For your 2* focus your attention on Thor wolvie and storm.

Bro I've barely spent anything. Gotta believe in the heart of the cards. Seriously, I cant tell you how many of my 3 stars I got from standards. Picking them up isn't really that hard. It just takes time and figuring out ways to win things while working around all the people with maxed characters. And I don't really ditch anything. My bagman even has his own little roster slot.

I'd buy the daily deal heroic for the next couple of days (only 100 HP) and try and pop something good. You're likely to get something you'll be able to use no matter what.

I would recommend against selling *any* characters. Even the 4* characters, as they might get fixed someday when devs see user feedback or pull the stats and see that even players who have them leveled don't use them. Murphy's Law tells us that whatever character you decide to sell is the one you'll pull more of. It takes a while to pull enough of a 3* to make them usable, but it absolutely happens.

For now, here's my advice:

• play every event you can, even if you have no chance of placing well - get as high in progressions rewards as you can
• focus ISO on a small number of preferred characters
• focus ISO on buffed characters for events you intend to make a real push into, especially the long PvE events (like the Hulk one this week)
• keep spending available HP on cover slots when you can until you have at least a few open slots at any given time
• only spend HP on cover tokens when you can take advantage of a daily deal, at least until you have enough cover slots for every currently available character
• seriously, don't throw anyone away. Today's reject character could be tomorrow's shining star in the next patch

Okay, I think I know what I need to do now. I'm still wondering about which group of my 2* characters synergize well together so I can focus on leveling them. After the Hulk event I will most likely have 3/2/3 on my 2* Black Widow so I'm excited on leveling her. I also just obtained a 3* Black Widow which I hear is pretty powerful.

(Black Widow Original is becoming useful, but still isn't as good as the above 3).

Any Iso spent on other characters become increasingly big risks.

Mind you I am not saying you shouldn't enjoy yourself building up a character you like, or investing in a buffed character (especially for a week long tournament), but I doubt if those players who invested in Modern Hawkeye in The Hunt tournament are reaping prolonged benefits from the character (I don't see much Hawkeye use in the Avengers tournament).

Have fun and don't worry about being competitive immediately. I let the game cone to me and let myself know my place.

It makes the occasional tournament win or high placement exquisitely satisfying.

I have ** Magneto with 5/4/3 level 25. He is fun to use but I can't be competitive with him (I paired him with ** Storm when her Raging Tempest was still dominant).

My advice is for you to stash your Iso. I amassed over 100k which became useful when I started getting *** covers.

By the way, the metagame is such because of the need to finish matches as quickly as possible. Spiderman is there because he can stun on the first turn when boosted -- should the tiles on the board fail to favor Ragnarok.

Wolverine starts damaging on turn 1 and sets up a powerful Mjolnir's Might from Thor on the same turn.

These characters win matches by reducing opponents' opportunities to strike back with any significant threat before you kill them.

The following lineup is very powerful in the forest.

Classic Hawkeye max
Modern Storm 5/5/3 max
Modern Black Widow max

Grab red tiles and use Mistress of Elements. Use Take Aim on environmental tiles. It helps to flip a pair of tiles that won't make a match in the direction you want the match to go, in case there are multiple matches the crit could take. It seems to go in the direction you last flipped a tile (not thoroughly tested, but it's worked for me during those situations)

Once you get enough to use thornef rose, use it. Use mistress of elements again if enough env tiles. Use lightning strike as soon as possible. Soon you'll have widows sting locking enemy.


Successfully used on a team with 95 Rag, 48 spider man, and I believe 69 daken.

I have a maxed IMM35, and still use him with Thor and Wolverine in the Avengers tournament. He doesn't do much but 2700 hit points can save my other guys from taking too much damage.

It was very satisfying to see it survive IMM40s unibeam attack! Then I smashed it with my own Freeze beam to finish the battle. That was the best.
