Okay, this is my stepping-back from MPQ thread. No whining or finger-pointing from me.
Since alliances and seasons started, I've ground 1-2 hours per day and focused on 10p-midnight at least every other night, trying to ensure my placement in top 5/10/25/50 and putting in my part to place my alliance in the top 100. I get to bed after my wife is asleep, and I've used time when I should be doing office work, supervisory work, and housework thinking about my place in the shard. I've let so much else go (like working out and recreational reading and obstacle races), because progress in this game demands almost-daily commitment, and that makes me 80-90% there when I'm not thinking about what I need to do to keep up with Event X.
This weekend, I had a long work trip home on Friday and my wife's brother's wedding on Saturday. I wanted to start PvE, but I knew I would never have the 2 hours or so to do the "world tour" of Heroic Juggernaut nodes, so I put it off until Sunday. I knew I was fighting to get character #49 (+650HP), who would be incubating on my roster, except in the few matches where he'll be required, so I can get more PvE points to get character #50 (+650 HP), who will likewise incubate, until I need him/her to get #51 (+650 HP)...
I feel as though the end of Season 5 is the right time to get off this wheel. I have so much appreciation for Adam Magus and Reign of Magus, whose assistance has transformed me from an OBW-relying 2* player to a 49-character roster, including
fifteen 3* characters who have maxed covers. I had a lot of good chats and FB meets, and I've made teammates from across the globe.
But I can't play to win for the unlimited future. I don't want to play casually for lower-tier prizes I will just sell off. I'm not going to take the roster spot for someone who will play daily and benefit from it.
I have little complaints for the game, as my standards have met the product. I've had my experiences with d3 Bottomless Pit Customer Service, although my last claim was resolved very satisfactorally. I averaged 1.4 gold tokens from my season 10-packs (most of them useable). I've made it this far on just under $9 total spend. I hope This Time They Really Mean It with their new emphasis on interacting with and addressing the customer base.
But I can't say I'm quitting. I'll stick around the board and to get my daily reward/Deadpool points/20 ISO. I'll play a PvE/PvP if the covers look good. But I'm just spent.
I'm sawft.
I'm 1-ply Charmin by now.
I've had a good time, and I appreciate y'all. I hope good things happen for this game.
And for once, I'll be in bed before midnight.

Life is always about shifting priorities. You put your time and energy where it benefits you most.
My husband and I both play MPQ. It is a shared activity. As much as possible we start events together so we are in the same bracket. We are also older with grown children so our parenting tasks are greatly reduced. Twenty years ago I would not be playing any game to this degree.0 -

Heh. That's why I never wrote "leave" or quit." But I don't see me keeping a dependable level of commitment to this game. It sucked out all the open space in my life. I can't think of a console or mobile game that I've played daily for nine months. Usually, I'm finished by then.0
