Surprisingly little used effective combos

I am talking about combos of characters you personally use that you see very little of.

For me it would be Hulk 166+ GSBW 146.

Hulk tanks most colors except for Purple, and GS uses her burple to fule the Snipers green while Hulk also collects green. then boom group gone.

Many times I have finished a match at close to full HP.

I have seen very littel of them as well.

How powerful is it on defense? I can imagine downing GSBW as first, then put down featured and down hulk in one/two rounds

Defence seems ok, most people are avoiding Hulk. and I seem to win a few more Defenceive battles then you might think.

Now if I level GSBW up higher I am not sure she is going to overpower Hulk on Red or Green. but that will be a chance I take. On a side note I have been teaming them with Spidy in the Shield Simulater for a great effect, granted The shields from Spidy seem to blunt Hulks Anger, but it is effective for keeping GS alive.

I drool when I see that combo with decent points. As h4n1s suggests, its pretty easy to take out unless the featured is good and high.

A max GSBW's color strengths are Purple 79, Green, 70, Red, 61. Hulk's are Green - 79, Red - 70, Black - 61. So he'll still take red and green when both are maxed.

While Hulk is scarier on defense now, GSBW still sucks due to not being able to play her purple correctly. Still, it could be an interesting combo to pair with Black Panther. Or even IM40 or the re-worked cMags.

Hulk/Spidey/GSBW was my first solid 3* combo, and GSBW and Hulk were the first 3* I maxed. It was a decent combo, but GSBW's health was a concern. Now that it's harder to keep her in back while fueling her skills, I don't use her much at all.

Patch and Loki make a great team.
  • Black Panther & Daredevil is my guilty pleasure combo, obviously focusing on yellow & black for a devastating victory but tossing out traps when the AP is there is a perk that goes off at least once a match if black matches are hard to come by. Add in Torch, Patch, Thor, Punisher or Sentry as my 3rd random green user, switch daredevil out for Deadpool, Hood or Daken when it's time for a more reliable defense team.
  • Psylocke daken can be fun but will take some punishment over a few matches.

Patch goes well with just about anyone but playing him with captain marvel was especially fun.

Steve with IM40 (one yellow cover) or mnMags produces some interesting results add in hood for AP steal and CD reduction

Doom + mnMags allows for some really crazy black generation and tons of crits. Doom tanks blue and purple.

Add a Y/G character for full color complementation or BP for an AoE outlet to unload all that black. Probably terrible on defense, but that's true most of the time anyway.

I have used those two along with Spidey for protect tiles, or Daken for strikes. Granted my levels aren't as high as that. At 127/125 im getting maybe 3500 damage. Thats only good for less than half of LT. A good tactic is to avoid using GSBW to make 4 and 5 matches and try to get as many 3s as you can to get the max strike tiles. Then spend another round or two targeting their biggest tank and get him down to where the Sniper will finish him. Hopefully at that point, you will have enough Blues for Daken before the sniper.

Doom + mnMags is a lot of fun! Just don't choose a character that places strike/attack tiles on Red tiles or a character who destroys Red tiles.

Grey Suit Black Widow & Thor = Go after purple and yellow and you end up with boat-loads of Green.

Wish I has a combo like that to just get boatloads of Red. Not happy with Recharge/Energy Absorption since those two characters require time/damage to active.
  • Been playing Patch and Lazy Cap with Loki in the current event.

It can be hilarious, almost as much fun as two CStorms passiving each-others' teams to death after a botched team damage attack

    Strike tile!
    No - Shield tile!
I must respectfully disagree - Strike tile!
    Au contraire! etc etc

But if you time your beserker rage until after you've got enough red and blue (for overwriting the tiles you can't match away) or black (to convert them) to launch a combined offensive (that downs their Loki as a priority if they're flush with black) you're unstoppable and the game's over in one or two turns.

(I don't think Patch and Loki counts as rarely used, but since it was already mentioned...)

    X-Force 195, Hulk 166, GSBW 166

    Hulks tanks and collect green
GSBG use purple to generate green (against strongest green place green, against strongest non green match green)
X-Force (5/5/2) use black and green

Imagine 11 black, 11 purple against strongest green - with 10 green on table GSBW add 6 greens - Surgical Strike with 16 Green on board is devastating - and also give 16 green back (plus cascades)

    Loki and Daredevil

The big complaint about DD is that his tiles show up in obscure board areas and don't get matched. Use Loki's pink to occasionally shake up the board and get better placement. As an occasional bonus, the shakeup will occasionally create matches.

Probably not "little used" but LDaken / Patch / 117 BP gives you an ability on every color except purple and Patch/Daken tank everything (used to be everything except blue).

For the super hard simulator battles I was going Hulk / Spider-Man / Psylocke (didn't want to risk my main team). Optimally you could figure out the level difference to make Hulk tank red but my psy + hulk are the same level (I think its around a 140 psylocke with a maxed hulk). Get some psylocke strike tiles out and make anger do crazy damage. If the enemy team isn't doing enough match damage to trigger anger have spidey make some defense tiles to negate all but ability damage.
