Nerf the 1-minute game

One game strategy right now is shield hopping.
1. Get to 700 points.
2. Shield
3. Break shield
4. Play a 3 turn game with Sentry+Boosts in 1 minute.
5. Goto 2.
Adding a minimal time per game before reshielding after a shield break would eliminate a lot of the exploits. Perhaps 4 minutes per game. If someone breaks shield and plays two games in 2 minutes, then tries to shield, they'll get the message
"Your shield will activate in 6 minutes. Activate?"
Sentry is heavily overused by people trying to play as fast as possible. If the 1-minute game is eliminated, he won't dominate the upper game so much.
"Full Points in 40 minutes" -- this sort of thing from PvE could be borrowed for PvP. Each time a player starts a game, that starts a 3 minute timer. If they finish in less than 3 minutes, then subsequent PvP items wouldn't show full points, with the message "Full points in 2 minutes". If they didn't play a 3-turn game with Sentry+boosts, then that counter is likely expired before they finish the game.

although this would be great to see and a real game leveller, the devs are more likely to just nerf sentry and then the next character that becomes popular, than upset the p2w crowd, i do agree this would stop the crazy score's you now see in pvp.0

One other approach I've used for the shield hop is Deadpool. Whales doesn't exhaust his Deadpool Points; it just uses 28k of them. What that means is - since I only bother to shield hop on those rare PVPs that I need a cover for - I've built up enough of a reserve to keep 2-3 Whaleses on hand and use them to shield hop. If I wanted to be really evil I think I could theoretically boost that to turn 1 or 2 (can't remember if I have any of the b/p retireds left).0

Agree...we have a bad score inflation situation with Sentry. Now everyone's hovering in the 1300+ in the top 5. Maybe the devs can be super nice and lower the progression reward requirements?0

Use Sentry == get half points.
Attack Sentry == get double points.0
