6am - The PVE End Time for All

As frustrating as it may be, us EU players have to stop complaining about the pve end times.

Yes rubber-banding may tinykitty us up and yes we may lose rankings.

But consider this, if working days run from 8/9-5pm, why not be pro-active and wake up at 5, grind it out then get ready to kill the day icon_e_biggrin.gif ??

Secondly, it's simple economics that you protect your market share; if Americans make up the market you appeal to them because after all the bulk of your revenue is coming from them. This isn't too say that they should receive preferential treatment, no, but we must just keep in mind that MPQ is a business after all (as tough a pill that is too swallow).

So guys let's just learn to love it, 6am isn't too steep a time for us - provided it stays as that and not earlier - and recent PVP end times (Captain Marvel, Punisher etc.) in addition to Simulator sub-events, shows that due consideration is being given to us.

P.S: I'm playing out of Africa so if i can wake up at 5am to play with the lions and zebras, then you waking up to a cuppa' joe and MPQ shouldn't be too far a stretch icon_e_wink.gif

Interesting, but not for me thanks. I would need to go to bed 1 hour earlier and that doesn't fit my or my GF habits.

It's 6 a.m. right now. With the changes caused by daylight savings time I've had it change between 3 a.m and 6 a.m. What should I do this winter, be even more pro-active and wake up at 3 a.m. to do my final grind until 4 a.m. ?

So, they shouldn't get a preferential treatment, but yeah, they're actually getting a preferential treatment.

As I said it may not be steep now, but wait a couple of months and let's talk about this then. Also, the simulator doesn't have subs to show consideration towards us, it's just been designed better than other PvE events.

Or, I could, you know, take the money I'd have invested in a couple of Stark salaries to something that respects me as a player and recognizes that there are other timezones than American ones.

Something that doesn't force me into a raid schedule for at least three events per week, more if there is PVE going on (and there is _always_ PVE going on).

Something that at least rewards me with higher tier stuff for sticking to that raid schedule.

    Actually, that sounds appealing.
  • First of all, nope - I won't stop complaining about EU (and especially UK) end times because:

    1. 6am (5am UK) is a PvE end time, not a time you need to get up to compete. To actively compete for the top 10 positions then you're looking at 5am (4am UK) at the VERY latest, and quite possibly another session at 2am (1am) if you want top 2.

    2. Some people are free and single, with no worries about their alarm going off at 4am/5am, but other people are in relationships where the other person doesn't appreciate being woken up by their partner playing a mobile game.

    3. What we're suggesting (giving a choice of 2 or 3 event finish times) isn't bloody rocket science - other similar mobile games with an international audience do this. It also balances the load on their servers as not everyone will be grinding like maniacs at the same time.

The population of Europe is bigger (500m+) than the US (300m) and has similar smartphone penetration, so the potential audience is LARGE.

My workday starts at 6am so that would require me to set my alarm for 4am! I am sure my wife would love me to go to bed at 9pm and then wake her up early for a mobile game.

The easiest solution is for all pvp events to run for 62 hours so every time zone is catered for eventually.

Which is my original suggestion. Rotating end times so everyone gets a fair share of pain as well as shot at good PvE placement. Biggest selling point with this is that it's trivial to implement.

Multiple events for different timezones would be very good, but is non-trivial to implement.
