395 or GTFO?

Metrics show that the six people who regularly use team ups enjoy level 395 enemies so they can farm team ups as trophies.0

I have an inventory full of 395 team ups. Mostly CotS but some other stuff mixed in. Glad I was able to use Patchneto to farm them before the "upgrade" hit as there is almost no way Ill be taking on 395s now.0

And? Now all community must suffer cuz few weirdos like masochism and cheap show off bravado?0
-
Now it will be Fury/XForce duet, but I'm not sure it works at high levels...0

395 solo Thor was an interesting fight. I went with Hood, mnMags and LCap to keep him locked down with stuns and shields but yeah that strategy only works on one opponent.
In theory the PVE structure should be self correcting, so if D3 were a generous god it would intentionally lower everyone's scaling and let it grow back up to natural levels instead of making the players lower it back down the hard way.0 -
I didn't recall seeing anything in the level 300 range until the last 12 hours of a sub for Simulator Basic, and I don't think level 200 is unreasonable when your boosted heroes vary between 196-256 and I didn't see that many of those until the last day. Now without Magneto it also doesn't take very much to die either but that applies to everyone.0

The problem is that as long as you can sentry bomb a tough PvE node, it's still going to scale ridiculously given the current algorithm. My node with XForce and goons was up to around lv380 by the end. Definitely not in favor of turning PvE into PvP, but if you're trying to rank high, you don't have a lot of options when Xforce can cast his green every 3rd turn and Fury can cast his purple every 3rd time, thanks to the goon feeders.0

Sentry bomb simply doesn't work well in PvE. There's a reason why the top PvE individual/alliance scores look very different from the top PvP scores.
Fury is easy to take out with X Force. X Force you'll just use Daken, and careful manipulation of the board plus some luck can prevent X Force from used while Daken shuts off Surgical Strike because they'll use Rocket instead whenever they have 10 AP.0 -
I used lowly OBW, Mnmags, and cstorm on the 395 thor level. Alas, I kept getting his red TU dropped.0

C Spidey + my 4 purple cover Venom + Bullseye chomped 395 thor every time. CHOMP.0

And I totally don't get how Xforce can compete with a Fury who's casting Escape Plan literally every 3rd turn. Xforce isn't faster, and a lv350 Escape Plan does more damage than my XForce does.0 -
Someone still love scaling? Especially now, when it's ****, created for stop pre-nerf chars, is transffered to Heroics, without this chars and very limited roster?
Or you all will continue yours bravado about super TU as award and write about combo with locked chars?0 -
Wait, people had to use Patchneto to beat that 395 thor? I beat it consistently with OBW, Hood, and Ares, and Ares was the only one that was buffed. I also did it once with Patch instead of Ares. What happened was that he hit 8 red AP, one-shot my patch, and then I managed to keep him down with recon and dormammu's aid while stuffing match damage with healing. I literally whittled down 20,000 HP one Intimidate at a time.0

People must not actually think about the puzzle part of this game very much. The X Force node is Brotherhood Mutant (forgot name) + Grenadier + X Force. They have green abilities at 6 (Unstable Blast), 8 (X Force), and 10 (Rocket). They generate 3 green AP a turn from the goons.
Since the AI will always use Rocket if they have 10 or more green, this means the strategy is to let the AI get to 10 green AP while skipping 8, so as they start collecting AP you need to let them have green AP and let the AP they collect + goon generated AP hit 10 so they'll skip X Force. This allows you to form a strategy against every AP they have:
0 - play normal
1 - play normal
2 - deny green
3 - deny green
4 - play normal
5 - let them have green
6 - let them have green
7 - play normal
8 - put someone with lots of HP in front
9 - put someone with lots of HP in front
10 or more - nothing special
Note that denying green on 5 and 6 is very bad. They'll hit 8/9 AP next turn, which means they'll use X Force. But if you let them have green, they'll hit 11/12 AP and use Rocket. No you can't always count on the AI to take the available matches, but if you didn't even leave one available on the board then they'll definitely hit 8/9 AP next turn. No I didn't go analyze every move to this great detail, but it's worth thinking about what happens when you see them with 5 AP and realize that you better not deny any green. Since goon colors seems to have low priority in color acquisition, it's not hard to get them to take the green matches.
For Surgical Strike, if your strongest color is black, then it stops Surgical Strike from being chained into anything else, and since they still have to collect a decent amount of black (they only get 1 black a turn) this reduces the damage Surgical Strike will do. Against a human player they could just kill Daken with Surgical Strike and then chain into something else, but the AI can't do that. As long as you've anyone but Daken in front (or if Daken can survive it), all that's going to happen is you get hit by a Surgical Strike for large amount of damage and they get all their black AP back but there's going to be about 3 black tiles on board so they can't do anything interesting with it. Since Daken is boosted in that event he will always have the highest match damage on his strongest color, which is black.
Alternatively you can put a red, purple, or blue strong character in middle. The realistic options would likely be Sentry and Thor for red. You'll take more expected damage from Surgical Strike since the AI will not be focusing on any of those colors so there will be more of them left for Surgical Strike.0 -
locked wrote:You have to understand though that 1 enemy even if level 395 is not that scary because you can bring a full team. Meanwhile, lvl 100-ish Dark Avengers are tearing my 3*s apart in the current Heroic because they have abilities in all/most colours, they have match damage on all colours and you gotta deny them the rainbow and not just 3 colours.
This. Plus remember, what 395 level may have ALL (literally) enemies in all nodes. Like it was with me in last Unstable Iso event... And all your Spidey/Venom, super combo with OBW or smartass tactics just would not work. Or work only once. Until AI get his first cascade.
Single 395 LT or X-Force with goons is not most scariest things, what you may meet in this game....0
