Best team up and defence advice needed

Hi,
I am trying to graps the complexity of the game and influence the outcome of defensive battles.
I am in the 2* to 3* transition. I get to 600 points without much of a hussle but "end of event" assult can drop me even to 400 points territory. Usually the end time is not favorable to me (it's in the middle of the night) so it's hard to bounce back.
So i am trying to prepare better for this by leaving good defensive team. The question is - who should it be? I have lvl89 Sentry, lvl 94 Thor, Ares, Wolverine, Storm - the rest doesn't matter much (I can lvl 2* Storm if this would be helpful). I normally go for Sentry-Ares-Boosted (or if there is no boosted - Wolverin or Thor). Am I doing it right?
Second part of the question - what are the best Team Up's that my defence can use. I could try getting them and store only them in the list of team ups so I would get the ones that work well for each battle comp has to do for me.

Afraid defense matters very little if 3* players can find you (and they usually can). Can't you use a 3h shield to defend your score? Ares/oBW, Thor/oBW, Ares/Wolvie are very strong defensively. Sentry, depends on his covers, lvl 89 is not shabby for a 3*, but he should lose to your maxed 2*s in damage and health for the moment.
All TU abilities that cost under 10-12 are good for defense, but some of the best are Fireball, lvl 1-3 Aggresive Recon (oBW), Anti-Gravity Device, Unstoppable Crash, Widow's Sting, Wind Storm, maxed Symbiote Snare, Inferno, Illusions, Trickery, Godlike Power, Thunderclap, Chemical Reaction, Psi-Katana, Molotov Cocktail, Retribution, Judgement, Battleplan, World Rupture, Feral Claws.0 -
Thank you for reply. I will need to reconsider my TeamUp's as the ones I have are powerfull but very expensive.
As for Shields - I have shortage of HP points (i use them all to expand the slot number - they cost 350 for each at my stage) but I am thinking about using it if the reward is better than the cost of HP. I might give it a go with the next PVP.0 -
Forgot to mention that maxed lazyCap's red and blue TUs are also very good as they have a strong effect, can erase any tile for you and return 10 red/blue AP.
You shouldn't shield a lot if you still struggle to find slots for covers you get (some covers you can easily delete and not worry about them though): Yelena, Venom, IM 35, cHawkeye, Bag-Man, Bullseye, Moonstone, 2* Captain America, mHawkeye (supposed to still not be good after the buff). I'd say only shield if you want to get the very first cover of a 3* you lack and that is featured in ongoing events or is going to, or a very strong/versatile 3* that will help you build your roster. The current top looks like this: Sentry (!), lazy Thor (!), Black Panther, Patch, lazy Daken, Punisher, Hulk (good for defense), Human Torch. The only 3* supports definitely worth working on currently are Hood and Falcon. Consider working on lazy Captain America/Deadpool/Captain Marvel if you get their covers first.0 -
I might need to delete. 2* Cap is most likely gone with the next 3* cover I get. The rest is usable 2* or 3*. I still have 1* Storm and IM35 (people say he can go) that are useful for 1-2-3* events (otherwise i will be left with just one 1* card... damn - if only i would keep Jagg).0

Have no idea of what your brackets are like, but if 600 points isn't enough to get you something you need, then you're really not losing out on anything when you start losing points, so better off saving the hp until you really need them.0

I've only started to get to 600 lvl (i think 3 time now) and so far none of the covers were interesting enough to use HP. But i will analyze this in the near future more.0

Since you mentioned building up OBW in another thread, your strongest defense team, by a fair margin, would be Ares + OBW.
As a multi-L166 player, I auto-skip those when I'm doing my initial 0-700 climb, since they pose a greater health-loss risk than other teams I can easily find, like CStorm + MN Mags, Thorverine, or even Patchneto (yep, that 3* team).0 -
Wait, TUs on defensive aren't random but same as you used? Isn't that... terribly exploitable? I've had lvl117 1* Storm from PvE. Grabbing and holding onto 270 Headbutt seems unfair as hell :S.0

It's actually good question. My initial question was - which ones to keep (i don't use them much in battles) so they create a pool of usable TU for Defence. If the system is pickig the ones I had assigned there is a lot of room for exploits. Anybody with knowledge can confirm that?0
