Different Godlike Powers

Godlike Power cast by the opponent AI:
-200-300 damage
-One of the new rows descends as a perfect line of 4-6 tiles of the same colour
-The other row manages to complete 2-4 horizontal 3-4 matches
-The resulting board shake will produce 2-3 critical tiles and keep cascading until your character is downed, no matter his/her health.
-AI acquires enough AP to cast each other of its characters' powers for the next 2-3 turns.
-This includes red, and Ragnarok will proceed to cast Thunderclap, placing with clinical precision 4 green tiles in ways that will cause more green matches than Hulk's Anger and Thor's Thunder Strike usually do, despite producing more green tiles. This guarantees a Godlike Power the next turn.
-Rinse and repeat.
This is the result around 40-50% of times, with slightly mitigated results in all other ocassions.
Godlike Power cast by you:
-200-300 damage
-The new rows ruined the only good matches available in the board. Now you have to do that T-U tiles 3-match that will enable a 4-match to the AI in its best colour.
This is the result around 70-80% of times. In over 200 days playing this game, I don't think I have got more than one bonus match from Godlike Power.

200 days here and Galactus himself couldn't convince me the PvE AI doesn't wear a +2 Ring of Cascading. PvP cascades seem equally split though.0

And just forget all the time Godlike Power cleared a bunch of annoying strike/protect/CD tiles that you had a hard time reaching while doing fairly unimpressive damage.
The AI uses Godlike at every opportunity in most DA compositions. A player most likely does not have a game around using Godlike as many times as possible.
Players do not have access to free green AP every turn, while the AI usually do. The AI is generally better at gaining AP when a game goes on long enough. Godlike Power tends to wipe out the first move advantage (after the first Godlike Power, it's pretty close to a new board where the AI gets to go first). If it was possible to have a green battery at even 2 green AP per turn, just chaining Godlike Power or Unstoppable Crash would be the best long term strategy for green because at some point you're going to get into a near infinite combo and that's game there. But since we don't have a green battery that generates 2 or even 4 AP a turn this strategy is not feasible for a human.0 -
Seen this myself, a Lot. The Ai tile placement thats "supposed" to be random is perfect Every Friggin time. Another thing that really bugs the cr@p outta me is when the Ai will make a match 4 with no other tiles destroyed or matches made and immediatley get a second turn. Match 4 is NOT a critical hit. Then theres the magic Ai that players can't see so it only Looks like the Ai is using powers with only half the required Ap.
But I still love the game and intend to keep playing for a long long time yet.
Edit: .... this post is not my opinion. This is Fact captured on video. I have been recording every match I play for over 5 weeks now, (i know, get a life, right? ). Then you watch them back in slow motion you clearly see the Ai cast GodPower with only 3 Ap. And Yelena hits Recon for 11 purple Ap, not 19. I have captured 5 cheats from Ai in the Venom Heroic event on video. Thats 5 times in 3.5 days for just one player. Multiply that by the total number of MPQ players and it's obvious that Rags is broken/bugged/glitched or just on crack. Maybe all 4. I posted a few of these on youtube for anyone interested.
Also, went back and reviewed matches for Heroic event. In the complete 3.5 days of the event, Rags would cause a cascade 92% of the time. I took a Rags with same build and tried to replicate these numbers playing the same amount of matches in proloque. Let's just say it happened a lot less for me. A LOT less. As in only 8% of the time.
side note, I consider a cascade a minimum of 5 consecutive match 3s, at least.
But I still love this game. All this just makes it more challenging.0 -

Rags isn't paired with any goons for this particular event. Just let us enjoy venting on this one, dude.0 -
Damn, thanks for posting this... all this time, I thought this was only happening to me...0

It's not just that Rags has unbelievable cascade powers when the AI controls him, it's that he consistently hits the jackpot on red and green matches to fuel his own powers. Godlike power into a red cascade that sets up another red match. Two green on the board? Don't worry, Thunderclap will set up a five of a kind. Either that or it's a bonanza of purple so Venom can chain stun you while he cascades some more. It's never blue and yellow that they AI can't use. It's always the bad ****. Shenanigans.0

And also freaking Bullseye is annoying with his purple with daken and ragnarok they are most of all **** awful...
Edit: Also when i play against bullseye the board is full with purple AP but when i play with him just to check the board is normal0 -

I used my Patch a lot in the current Beast PvE, I noticed something similar. When I would use Patch green tiles were rare. When I did not use Patch, green tiles were everywhere.
The Ai better not ever go to Las Vegas if it's cheating is that obvious.

I think they will do anything to force you to spend on heath packs or to upgrade your heroes ...and obviously something is wrong with AI ..0 -
Confirmation bias, my tinykitty. Rag just wiped out my entire team with level 256 patch0

You forgot the part where you have to use Patch to get any decent damage in the Venom Heroic and as soon as you drop berserkers then Rags would make a perfect green drop and match away all your green strikes leaving a lovely 6 purple ones on the board. Insert cascade of death0

Yeah, I learned early on the event that you mustn't use Berserker Rage UNLESS you can follow up with Wind Storm (which is quite brutal, in all honesty, Blade Storm was my nickname for it) and you can be sure that succession of powers will leave one character dead, one frozen, and one in low health enough that a Black Widow Espionage double-dipped attack can take down. Anything else was begging for the AI to "coincidentally" get a one minute cascade the next turn that will wipe out your team.0 -
The thing is the AI just has to do one lucky move to ruin the game for you -- if they get a lucky cascade/ability and so on and you take damage you probably have to use some health packs.
Remember, your team HP is much more valuable than enemy HP. You have to use your team to fight countless numbers of enemy teams so every single "lucky" move the enemy make stands out much more than every single "lucky" move you do.
There is also the concept of negativity bias that plays very much into this.

But how is it "lucky" when 92% of the time, tiles will go Exactly where they need to for Rags to cause a cascade?0 -
JCTthe3rd81 wrote:But how is it "lucky" when 92% of the time, tiles will go Exactly where they need to for Rags to cause a cascade?
Well if we going to be technical about it, i doubt 92% would be the real statistic-- i say if you want to be really sure about this record every single time Rag uses his green on the enemy team and your own, for at least 100 times to get hopefully a decent sample size.
I mean on a basic analysis of godlike power, it destroys 2 center columns-- if either side of these two columns has 2 tiles in a row of the same color the new center can drop in one tile of the same color in the same row to complete a match 3 and potentially cause a cascade. There are many chances of doing this, basically once for each row and each side everytime this happens. Match 4's probably won't be so rare either. I'm too lazy to do the math, really. So sure, it may actually be a skill that causes quite a bit of cascading, but no need to exaggerate it.
edit: here is a good thread of someone looking at board shake up abilities:
viewtopic.php?f=7&t=9449&p=163352&hilit=thunderclap+godlike#p163352
My comment above was more based on the Psychological view -- WHY do we think the AI gets these super strong cascades/godlike powers (plus it wasn't just for Rag -- it was for enemy matching/ability use in general). Basically the negativity bias says that humans think of negative memories more than positive ones-- compound that with the fact that we have to face many, many matches against the AI (giving the AI more chances to try the RNG, plus making our health MUCH more valuable than enemy health) makes us feel the AI may be unfair, while statistically they enemy follows the same rules as our own characters.
There is also the fact that we don't use Rag ourselves, and we wouldn't want to spam our Rag green when green is such a strong color, while the AI will as that is usually the only enemy green and also AP cost is a factor (Phantron was getting at this). The AI just has more chances than us to use godlike power because we don't actually use Rag that much (unless you do, then props to you and please record the statistics if you feel the AI has a better godlike power than you ).
AND we face so much Rag in Pvp, green generating goons aside.
TL;DR: Godlike power might actually have a decent chance at causing cascades, and we notice it and feel the AI is getting a better Godlike than we do because we tend to remember bad things more than good things, we face a lot of enemy Rags and don't use Rags a lot ourself, and our Health is much more valuable than enemy Health.0 -
Gotta bump this thread...just had my lvl 200 xforce get whooped by lvl 50 rag/daken
Give me a tinykitty break0 -

I have that issue with Sentry, to the point where I've decided that Sentry-bombing is just something the forum has invented to mess with my mind. Every time I use him, the AI goes "Oh yeah? Rupture this, sucker!" and gives me boards where green is about as common as Fury covers from standard tokens. I go in with a pile of boosts, needing only one green match to cast WR and win the game, and what happens? I've had games where I killed the opposing team with Rage of the Panther before I ever got that one green match; games where my own team got taken out with Ballistic Salvo first; games where I cast Aggressive Recon twice and still couldn't get any green, because the opposing team didn't have any either; games where by the time I did get WR going, I'd taken three or four defensive losses in the meantime...
Sentry-bombing, sure. Dude is the slowest character in the game.0 -
YES YES YES! The AI gets INSANE luck on cascades. I definitely think there is some kind of cheat code for AI cascades. Take this current edition of The Hunt. 93.624256834% of the time She-Hulk uses Power of Attorney it ends up with cascades that provide extra AP. I am completely tired of this obvious bulls................oh wait, that's my She-Hulk.
Never mind. Power of Attorney works great.0
