A positive challenge

I shall also be positive, well, my alliance more so than I per se, I love the HP ATM that is the current pve sub's. Cha-Ching!
Also, they must have had a special hamster flown (smuggled?) in as the servers seem to be doing better.0 -
The game is quite thrilling for newcomers, and everything is done to please them.
So it's quite normal that you enjoy it, and I'm happy to see you are enjoying it, the way I used to enjoy it. It led me to spend quite a bit on it (you'd fall off your throne if you knew).
MPQ used to have a lot of new updates/characters/bug fixes... It is no longer the case.
The community and the devs' communication seems to be broken. We were promised a community manager. He hasn't been hired yet.
Many veterans think that they expect us to leave the game, to make room for the newcomers. Many guys leave indeed. I hope you will stay as long as possible and enjoy the game for a long time.
206 days here and counting... Hoping that September will bring something new.0 -

Less players playing the PvEs, so no need for extra hamsters0 -
I guess the negative threads and comments happen because hate, like love, is born of care. We care a lot about this game, i.e., we really like it too! There are just too many unresolved issues that are denying it the greatness we believe it can reach. But you are right, let's not use this thread to, as always, talk about those issues, but about the things that make us care for the game enough to spend our days ranting about it in an Internet forum
I am a fan of Marvel comics and I like MPQ because it gives me an interactive way to see those characters in action and see them banter and sass. The mechanics are interesting and deep enough (for a match-3 game) to remind me of MTG.0 -
You have listed most of the reasons why MPQ is appealing.
And being part of an Alliance is a very positive thing too.
What is positive at the moment, is that I grind Iso. So I can max the newly released characters.0 -

Thank you sir!arktos1971 wrote:206 days here and counting... Hoping that September will bring something new.
This, I agree on. And I'm feel greatly excited on this upcoming event.0 -
There's a lot of things I love about the game. In the beginning this forum was very fun and positive, but the game was new to everyone and there was a lot for everyone to discover and discuss. The devs can't make an entirely new game every month, so I guess that same level of excitement and positivity just can't be sustained forever. It's still a good game and getting better.
I'm a big Marvel fan, which might be the major reason I like it. I love the characters and imagining them in action. Some of the characters, like Hulk, somehow feel exactly as they should be. They made Deadpool and Captain Marvel because we asked them too. That's awesome! I wasn't a Deadpool fan, but I think this game made me one. I even bought an Uncanny X-Force book last week.
But there is also something special about this game because I don't play any of the other Marvel games.
Finally, being able to leave a game at a moments notice is a big plus when attending to two little boys (and a wife).0 -
I don't really find myself learning more about this game. It's more like when you don't have Magneto or whoever else is totally broken you've to be more clever with who you got to get anywhere, which is pretty fun but there's no reason to ever go back once you've all the powerhouses. The only time I've run weaker teams is back when scaling depended on how much damage you take, so it's ideal to use the weakest team possible that can barely beat the encounter. That was actually quite fun but I'm sure it's not intended in the game, though I wouldn't mind if they can somehow incorporate this in a less gimmicky form.0

I love this game. 264 days in.
It has helped distract me during tough times.
It has led me to an alliance with people I enjoy chatting/playing with.
It has killed lots of time in lines, on commutes, and in the can.0 -
This feels like MPQ's version of Thanksgiving. Everyone say one thing you're thankful for. I'm pleasantly surprised it has gone as well as it has so far on this thread.0

I was never using up my monthly data allowance before.0

My positives will be more short-term, since I take the enjoyment of the basic game mechanics entirely for granted already:
- I like the new character releases.
- My alliance is great (present members excluded ).
- PVE scaling has greatly improved, and while EU players are still kinda screwed, I think D3 has finally nailed down a very solid point-refresh system.
- I very much appreciate the boosted Iso drop rates.
- They added back the T5 individual cover reward, which, even as a T100 alliance member, I appreciate as a gesture for players in weaker alliances or those without alliances at all.
As for the lack of positivity, a lot of positivity has moved to alliance chats and other off-forum avenues. The negativity often creates feedback loops, in which people want to maximize grandstanding while minimizing thought by simply typing complaints on endless repeat. The more positive players have increasingly stopped bothering to even engage, because actual engagement is rarely the intent of the negativity. There are many problems with the game, and a number of excellent discussions about such, but there's a lot more noise than signal nowadays.0 -
They did bring back triple cover rewards for the top players, that was a plus. I even bought some HP as a cookie for D3 after the change.0

I started playing on October 13 of last year and I am still having a lot of fun.
I have always enjoyed match-3 games and the combination of Marvel with that mechanic has continued to entertain me.
I actually want to congratulate the devs as they have tried to keep the game fresh and if this was the exact same game I started playing ten months ago I'd probably be gone.
They have found a way to make the SHIELD training PvP worth something, which was something we asked for.
The only new thing they have added that I am still unsure of is team-ups. Everything else has had a beneficial impact on the game in my opinion.
To whoever posted that the positivity exists in the alliance chat I think it still exists in the forums too. There are some really good threads and ones with obvious titles about cheaters or x-men i just ignore. The same people saying the same things. As a result I still enjoy my visit to the forum and reading the threads with good stuff in them. There are more than just a few to read on a given day.0 -
When I was a mod, it was pretty easy to keep the front page at least 70% positive/useful by combining and locking the negative threads.0
-
What I don't understand is that there are certain people who all they do on here is complain. If you hate the game so much, why are they still here? To share their joy?
More importantly, why do they always post in general discussion? There's a whole section for feedback and suggestions.
Why can't we have more threads like this one or the memes one?0 -
If you are completely casual, and just enjoy the game while you can use your current medpacks, you can be positive all the way.
If you take the game more seriously, want to be competitive and are passionate, there are things to be improved.
Many guys continue to play (and complain) because they are addict, and it is hard to back off an addiction. Look at how many "I quit" threads there have been, and the guys were back a few days/weeks later.
The game could be fantastic, it is good.0 -
Don't know if can list everything i like about this game but i'm going to try! [oh god, this sounds like he is going to go on one his long shpeels again. you've been warned]
What I like about MPQ - past
-i liked the prologue. great way to learn the basic mechanics of the game and fun times. <if you are able to survive Juggernaut that is. had one friend quit the game cuz she found him too frustrating. ce's la vie>
- i liked competing with my good friend/gaming rival but shot passed him three months in and it's been pretty much me wondering the deserts of MPQ in search of a new rival.
- getting my first Spider-Man cover from a standard token. <so~happy! now if the RNGesus would be kind of enough to send some purple covers my way haha>
- the game reigniting my interest in Marvel and American comics! [i really have come to appreciate Thor a lot more because of this game! And Sentry too!]
- finding the forums: really a life saver! no question, this place enhances the experience!
- maxing my first 3* Punisher. Good times!
-which reminds me, riding the Punny-Bunny OBW train to glorious pVp victory! [not as easy to do now i assume] 、., ⌒ 、.,⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒ 、., ⌒/(*^ x^)\
-speaking of bunnies, my ninja bunny to oblivion and beyond aka The Battle Royale for DeadPool covers experience! [crazy times! haha]
-also the Sentry and Deadpool pVes were really cool!
- and that time a cute girl at my job thought i was smart for ranking 4th in pVp because she thought it meant i was 4th in the whole wide world....yeah haha
What I like about MPQ - present
- the current long azz pVE ISO and HP giveaway spree! [and for those luckily enough Fury, too.] <was finally able to make back all the HP i spent on ninja bunny to oblivion and beyond aka The Battle Royale for DeadPool covers experience> It feels nice to have HP in my pockets! moo-lah!
- my current streak of getting full covers for 3* characters. After the end of this week i should have about 12 3* characters with full covers.
- Recently getting 2 more 3* characters. Mr. Castle was feelin a bit lonely. [not really] <you don't really use Punisher anymore> silence! i still appreciate him!
-participating semi-actively in the forum that helped me out!
- helps balance out my other x-rated addictions
- thinking up powers and builds of not yet released.
- imagining new game modes
- the yellow cover Sentry Season award.
- the black DeadPool cover award for the Simulator...
-.....and all the amazing high scores this season! i hope all you big high scorers like the Simulator as much you like pVp because i know i ain't getting 2400 in that thing by myself! (which reminds me, for all the noobs, back in the day before there were Alliances and all this shield hopping madness people considered the Simulator to be a cruel joke because they would offer really nice prizes like Spider-Man but at high points that no one could reach! it was simply cruel, i tell ya! But those days are long gone!! true warriors have heeded the glorious call of competition and will lead us all to higher and higher scores! what a wondrous time to be joining the struggle!) [STOP!] oops haha
What I (hope) to like about MPQ - future
- first and foremost, when the devs give the Amazing to Spider-Man
- the arrival of Gambit and Silver Surfer
- new game modes <especially hoping for boss battles: Galactus, Thanos, Apocalypse, Ultron, the true Dr. Doom. Anyone?> <oh and non-competitive modes, too like the Gauntlet and classic Marvel stories and events>
- [taking over the forum muahahaha ψ(*`ー´)ψ]
- A Contest of Champions like event to determine who is best MPQ player. Non-Alliance event. First few weeks will be like a normal pVp where Top 5 get to continue while the rest are eliminated. Once you qualify for the tournament: no health regeneration or using characters that are downed. You have to consider carefully which characters to use. So probably by the time you reach the finals it will be something like IM35, Bullseye, 2*daken vs 2* Captain America, Juggernaut (half health) and Moonstone.
- 8 hour refresh times for pVe haha
- maxing my favorite characters!
What i like about MPQ - past, present, future = always
- <the meta game of the meta game>
i think that's about it! if i remember anything else, i'll probably edit it in or mention it somewhere else!
tldr: the OP went on another one his long shpeels again. i warned you. apparently he really likes a lot of things about this game. hopefully you do too. Th-th-th-tha-tha-tha-that's all, folks!♪0 -

I liked the forums a lot better when you were a mod. Coincidence, I think not.
I enjoy the game itself, but the forums have, understandably, gone downhill without regular moderation.
I got into a great alliance a season ago and I enjoy strategy aspect of building teams that mesh well. Stay away from the General Discussion and this place is much more positive, especially Tips & Guides0 -
