Can customer support lower character levels?

a few people were interested in doing this when three stars had 25 levels added to them because it screwed up color tanking strategies. Now my Falcon is going to take yellow from Thor in the PvP tournament that will start Friday. I need him to be brought from 100 down to 94. (94*1.5=141; 69 yellow damage)

has anyone been successful with this

I have a feeling this is harder than it sounds. Aren't character levels mainly held client side? So you'd have to dissociate the FB account and reconnect as part of the process, without autosaving over the adjusted lower level.
  • I think their official stance is that you shouldn't want to do that, so I doubt they're going to start doing it for people.

I've never heard of that being done and I doubt that it ever will either. If CS did that to one hero for one person, then less than a week later they will have requests from thousands of people wanting to change a dozen characters each.

I had an alliance mate accidentally apply a 3rd yellow to his IM40 and had CS remove it in a matter of minutes. Not the same situation, but it can't be that hard. It probably depends on which CSR gets your ticket.

They already accept requests for name changes. Can't be much more difficult to manipulate character levels.

It might be an ugly precedent to set. If they do it once, people might start asking for it too often, and they have a hard enough time keeping up with actual "my stuff broke" tickets.

I don't see how doing something that helps the players can be considered a "dangerous precedent". Personally, I would call it a step in the right direction for a more than lackluster customer service.

I dont think it would take more than a few seconds to change hero level s. However, your teammates problem was an accident, not something he did on purpose.

But think about it. If I sent in a request to lower hero A's level so he tanks hero B, then the next PvP, hero A will be to weak. So I send in another ticket to put hero A back the way it was, or to lower hero C. It's a never ending cycle. People would want their heros changed every PvP event. Then as soon as the event ends, they will want them back and others changed. Like I said, if they do it once for one person, then they will be doing it non stop for everyone else.

The best solution would be to add a way for players to control their rosters more. A way for players to lower the levels of the characters. If you can raise the levels, then it should not be to hard to make it so you can lower them as well. It will have to cost something like iso or Hp, but that way players would have more control.

Edit - I'm tired of hearing myself rant.
  • There's an old thread in the Suggestions forum about implementing a level drop mechanism: viewtopic.php?f=8&t=11112&p=187274.
  • If you don't get the ISO refunded (as in, who is featured now, ok max them then ask for a refund for next event) I see no reason why voluntarily lowering someones level shouldn't be allowed. Hell, its possible to do the long way around by re-recruiting the hero and starting again, why not just eliminate some steps and make the game more enjoyable for some people? That CS might not be able to handle the workload is a **** excuse, they need to be better, not "oh well, they are overworked".
  • Not trying to take sides here, but having worked on for a large community site with over 100K members i can tell you the tickets can buildup rather fast once word gets out that a certain something can be changed by CS which may or may not benefit said person...

In this case, by removing / adding covers back to characters though CS, i can see they will definitely have their hands full once enough people get word about this being an option, and i can also imagine a lot of crying will happen when characters don't get updated in time, or the wrong update gets implemented before and after each PVP...

If there was a system within the game to remove certain covers / lower characters levels that would be fine, but to expect it from CS could cause a real **** storm if you ask me... especially if they end up with 10K requests at the start and end of every PVP with people asking for these changes on top of all their other tickets...

seemed pretty easy to add 25 levels to the character. I only wanted them to add 19.

I had no say in the matter.

Good news, Balance of Power is up instead of Top Gun. You're safe for now Birdman!

Honestly, I really like the Thor Daken Falcon team in shield vs when Thor takes yellow. Pretty fun.
