In Desperate Need Of Team Help *Final Update*

Looking for any advice at all because I'm stuck in MPQ purgatory. I built this team before knowing what I was doing. After reading the 1* to 3* guide, I realized how bad I screwed up my progression so I'm looking for some sort of assistance.

Couple of notes: Can't spend real money to improve my team - while i've played for a while, I'm still trying to learn the game (if that makes any sense) - I essentially skipped 2* to 3* because I saw 3* covers and jumped at getting them on my roster.

I'm willing to do anything I need to do to help get back on the right track (except spend money). Here's the roster:

Thank you to anyone that can help out. Like I said, outside of spending money I'm willing to do what I need to do to bounce back (working on getting enough Hero Points to get to 16 covers).

Don't delete your 3stars, they come in handy at some point.

Play the lightning rounds - start at the very beginning (not 2 minutes late) and you can get 8-12 seed teams. Those teams will get you lots of Iso and some cover drops. Rinse and repeat every 2 hours as much as you can. They usually run from around noon Tuesday to noon Wednesday Eastern.

Play PvE and prologue for Iso and tokens. Save tokens until you have enough hp to open up roster spots. No point in opening tokens if you have nowhere to put a new character. Grind all the hp out of the prologue (Guides will tell you which nodes have it)

Work on leveling up your 2 star teams. Good pairings include

Storm-Mags
oBW-Thor
oBW-Ares
Torch-Daken (assuming the buff comes around)

PvP will be pretty useless to you until you get at least 1 of those teams leveled up to 70+ for both. But you should still be able to get to 300 in PvP for the token and if you are lucky, maybe 400 for the hp.

Play a lot of simulator. Doesn't matter how much you lose, each win gets you 70-250 iso or a cover. I wouldn't skip into negative iso range, but hopefully you can find beatable teams without doing that.

As an added note, while in PvP you may not be able to get great ranking, playing until whatever Progression Reward you can muster is always a plus, because you'll get those + some ISO at the end for participating. If you can, try to find an Alliance that you mesh with - even if they're not anything to scream about Rank-wise, that's still extra ISO income.

It depends where you are on prologue. For now the main goal is to work on 2* covers to help you reach 300-400 points in PvP. Generally I will consider throwing out some of your characters and investing tokens (mentioned above) in good 1* character to make fights easier - personally I will take Storm (Modern) but Juggernaut (Classic) is also a good choice. Just use this character to collect 3-4 more covers for Thor (Modern) - than you will play mainly with him. Of course, sell characters only if you have someone better for this place - 2* Wolverine it's a good choice - sometimes fights better than 2* Thor. I don't have experience with Ares - he can be similar to Wolverine (based on facing him in PvPs/PvEs).
My personal preferences who to throw out below:
Spiderman (Classic) - LVL 53 - 0/1/2 - I don't like him, so he is always first to go. But he is common in PvPs/PvEs, so you can keep him.
The Punisher - LVL 53 - 2/1/0 - Keep him
Iron Man M35 - LVL 50 - 5/5/3 - Keep him until you develop two good 2* characters with different colours abilities (like Thor/Wolverine and OBW/Magneto/Moonstone)
The Hulk - LVL 45 - 1/1/1 - He is common in events, but it will take long time for him to reach decent level of damage in his abilities. You can throw him out if you have someone much better.
Thor (Modern) - LVL 45 - 1/1/1 - Keep him
Black Panther - LVL 43 - 0/1/1 - Keep him
Human Torch (Classic) - LVL 43 - 1/0/1 - Keep him
Sentry - LVL 40 - 0/1/0 - Keep him, because is common in events - not such common as Hulk. If you need to throw out him or Hulk maybe choose him.
The Hood - LVL 40 - 0/1/0 - Keep him
Black Widow (Original) - LVL 31 - 3/1/0 - Keep her
Storm (Classic) - LVL 25 - 1/1/2 - If you passed proloque mission with her covers, I will sell her. She is good, but quite common as reward in PvPs. Storm (Modern) will be better at this stage and simply to get high level.
Human Torch (Johnny) - LVL 23 - 0/2/1 - For me first to sell. I never used him having 1/2/3. And he is common as reward in PvPs.
Magneto (Marvel NOW) - LVL 23 - 0/2/1 - Keep him. For me he is more useful in low levels than OBW.

On my mobile (on PC I have much better roster) I have Moonstone 3/3/2, 2* Magneto 1/1/1, 2* Thor 2/3/1, 2* Wolverine 2/2/1 and 2*Daken 4/1 - it is possible to win 300-400 in PvPs with them with slightly better teams.

Thanks for all the replies so far. Been doing some playing/grinding, and have unlocked slots 14-16, and cashed in the 2 ISO Brotherhood tokens I got from a Mags event which landed me 2* Thor and Storm (Mohawk).

papa07 speaks the truth. Lightning rounds have been the most crucial part of my roster progression in that you can bank about 1k+ ISO every 2 hours for 48 hours straight, once every week. You can basically take a 2* from base level to max in a couple days, plus maybe another day or so. This week I'm taking my Hulk from level 40 to 117, and am at level 98 thus far.

But the key point papa07 made was that you want to join the lightning rounds right away in the first minute. This way you get the very low level seed teams. A few minutes can make a big difference. If you join a few minutes later you may get max 2* teams (this is what I would otherwise get), and it ends up being perhaps a difference of 600 ISO and use of health packs versus using none if I fight seed teams. This allows you to grind the lightning rounds for precious ISO while still participating in the other PVE/PVP events and use your precious health packs for them.

Looking at your characters, I would advise this. Use your M35 iron man in events until you get lots of covers to drop for your desired characters. Use Black Widow with him.
In this order, level Black Widow (Original), Thor (Modern), Storm Classic, Magneto Now, and possibly Johnny.
Do not delete your 3 star characters, but do not level them until you get at least 11 to 12 covers for them. Not worth the ISO.
2 Star characters you might want to add. Daken and Ares and Wolverine.
Ideal builds for Black Widow (OBW) and Thor is going to be 3/5/5

For now, I think the main thing is to keep playing and build a usable set of 2*s - you can win the covers and ISO just from regular play. I play a lot and sold hawkeye and 2* daken when I could get HP for them. The last patch ended that a week ago, and I've gotten 8 covers for each since then just from drops for playing. I'd also recommend taking advantage of the Facebook sharing - it provides a decent amount of ISO, which is almost always going to be needed.

I haven't been playing at your stage for a while, but all of your 2*s seem like good ones to build as you get covers. OBW should be your first priority for ISO as you get covers - she is usable long term. New Hawkeye is much more usable then old hawkeye as well, because even when he is a weak member of your team speedshot is a good ability.
