boost farming

Does anyone here have a strategy for farming boosts? I think I must be getting near the next tier of competition because I'm running in to a lot of teams that I can't beat without either a lot of luck or using boosts. Spending ISO on boosts, while small amounts in each purchase, seems counter-productive in building up ISO for leveling.

Thank you in advance.

I'm not sure if you can get boosts from PvE outside of the ones listed in rewards, but if so, it would be easiest to just do the intro ones. Otherwise, SHIELD training or lightning rounds
  • Wish I had an answer for you but in my experience there seems to be no rhyme or reason to obtaining boosts. The only thing I will say is that you never seem to get them after stomping a weak, low lvl team (the WannaBeSkrulls or FreeRangeCages or ppl tryin to tank with Bag-men teams), you gotta work for them and take a certain amount of damage. A close match will nearly always yield a boost of some kind.
At least that's how it feels to me, could be completely wrong and it is just utterly random and you could pick up an all AP +3 boost after crushing a Bag-Men inc team, just never seems to happen to me. In short, there doesn't seem to be a way to easily farm boosts, would make the game too easy.

And on the subject of boosts, devs out there, any chance we're gonna get some missions we can use the extra doombot damage boosts on? Don't know how many I've gotten since I started playing, so disappointing to think you got something useful and its another doombot boost to add to the (capped @10) pile.
  • I tend to mindlessly grind the first repeatable mission of the prologue while I'm doing other things that require minimal effort. That is generally how I refill any boosts I end up using. But as far as I know it's completely random as to if you get a boost or not.

Or maybe it's based off playtime? Like every x amount of minutes you've spent in games triggers a set of boosts to be rewarded? That would fit with theZeppo's experience.
  • I guess at the moment, there's no way to boost farming.
What i suggest is find your confirmed 3 team characters and start building ISO from there.

Only when use your ISO to additional confirmed characters (Characters that's has maxed cover then level him up)
Hope this give you some idea to work on boost farming.
  • I could have sworn I've gotten boosts as bonuses from single-player missions in the past. I used to try farming the first level (vs. level 3 Doom) and I'm pretty sure I've gotten boosts before. He's a quick tap-tap-dead, so very little investment of time to try.

As a low-to-mid tier player in terms of cards myself, I think you also just need to pick and set goals for some tourneys and not for every single one.

I really wanted top 10 for No-Holds-Barred so I boosted like crazy throughout the majority of the tournament. Whereas I don't feel like i can place that high (did get my first diabolical token) in the Lightning Rounds so I don't boost at all, try to win a few early matches and Gain 2K ISO.

In other words use some tournaments for ISO and others to gain Heroes.
  • Pointless IMO. Farm ISO instead and just welcome any boosts you receive as bonus,
  • So the distillation of this is "just keep playing".
    Fair enough!
  • If you're doing PvP and getting 70 or 140 ISO, then boosts are nearly free.

    3 PvP sessions - Max 420, min 210
    3x100 ISO boosts - 300
    2x100 ISO + 1x200 ISO boost - 400

Mix this in with the random boost rewards and you end up ahead or with a very slow ISO burn for full boosts.
