Who to level?

I have 106.5K Iso stocked up and just hit the 4k mark on hp in my f2p experience, so I'm wondering who should go from the back-burner to my A-team. (Number in parenthesis is level the hero can be if it gets all 106K Iso):

Already usable:
Max LThor
145 Steve Rogers (166 with 50K Iso leftover)
145 Pun (166 with 50K Iso leftover)
135 BP (166 with 29K Iso leftover)
135 Patch (166 with 29K Iso leftover)

Considering Levelling:
4/4/5 CMags; Lv 78 (146)
4/5/4 Falcon; Lv 94 (153)
5/3/5 Hood; Lv 66 (142)
5/3/5 HT?; Lv 65 (142)

My first thoughts are to get CMags up there because he trivializes most PvE nodes and for some Patchneto-ing (I would level Daken/Sentry but they're cover-capped at 114/89) in pvp while leaving Thor/BP on defense, and I really need better villains for nefarious foes because as of now my highest character for that is a 94*2 Sentry but of course since they waited 6 months to nerf Magneto, they're clearly going to do it the day after I level him, right? icon_rolleyes.gif

Hood's also nice as a defensive deterrent but I'd really need those last 2 blues, and while I do have hp to spare, not sure if it's worth it on him

Thanks in advance

    C. Mags seems like your best choice given nefarious foes and how he just straight up trivializes most encounters in the game in general: C. Mags / LazyThor is an incredibly strong team and hes going to make your offensive team a lot stronger than what you can currently put up. I would max out C. Mags, and then focus on BP or Patch. I really hate Patch as a character but can't deny the power of Patchneto, whereas BP is just going to be solid in general for you to round out your roster and as a third for his black. Patch doesn't really add anything to your roster since you have LT colorwise, and would just be there to regen tank for patchneto (which granted, is one of the most powerful things you can do on offense outside of sentry daken, but LT/C. Mags isn't tooooooo much worse.) Your roster is too developed for Punisher to be good since you have LT around, Torch is a good option with LT since red/black are good, but C. Mags is so much better with LT that its not close. Hood as you said isn't good until you get 4-5 blue, Falcon is terrible without Lazy Daken, and Cap just feels too niche (PvE only basically) to be a good investment.
  • Since we've been hearing so much about a cmags nerf, but nothing for months, I think he'd be your best option. He's a beast in PVP right now.

I'd split it between CMags and Patch - bring Mags up to about where you have Patch now and then just keep them fairly close in levels. You really want to make sure Patch is tanking as many colours as possible.
  • Thanks guys. Patch/Mags are both now 145 and I have 20k iso left over, hopefully to take a nonexistent Juggernaut to Lv 40 assuming I can get the covers and BoP has good rewards
  • Patch/CMags is a wonderfull combo. Use it PVP and PVE. CMags is level 145 now and I'm waiting for the nerf to decide what to do with the little rebel.

Same. I'm hoping they nerf him (or at least release post-nerf power stats) within the week so i can respec my 4/4/5 Patch properlyto either 5/3/5 or 3/5/5 with rewards from ISO-8 Brotherhood

Does anyone know if you level your characters to max (166) do the events and matchups get harder? I have a Patch and Lazy Cap for instance at max cover...but currently at level 125. Does anything change if I max them. Worried in PVP I'll only I be up against other 166 teams. Right now I don't see them until I get to rank 10 or so...

    Level makes no direct difference.

It does have an indirect influence though - as your roster gains in levels you tend to perform a little better so you start to see higher level opponents. There's also MMR windows, wherein once you reach a certain point threshold (around 600 or so for me), your available pool of opponents increases and you'll start seeing more maxed teams.

Thanks...I'm ok seeing them at higher point ranks...just didn't want to be suddenly thrust into a radically different set of matchups if I'm doing fine keeping them at a slightly lower level....

Doesn't BoP just bring the characters to lvl 270? Assuming you have all the covers for Jugg / spending the 18k shouldn't make a difference.

Yes. At the time I wrote this BoP hadn't actually started yet, so I assumed the rules would be the same as they were last time (i.e. Current lv/max lv *270)

In other news, seeing the Mags changes, 3/5/5 Patch seems to make more sense than 5/3/5, right?

When it comes to Patch, I say stick to what you find more comfortable. Some will go 5/3/5, others 4/4/5 and 3/5/5. Some have even stated they wont even use him. Personally I like 3/5/5 because Red is great and that heal is just beautiful for PvE. My roster is diverse enough to where I can have a PvE-centric team while keeping my PvP separate with no overlapping characters or conflicting builds.

I'm sticking with 5/3/5, just using it differently. Spam attacks are great but by no means the only way to use all the strike tiles and as long as you can clear up at least half the tiles he pops down for the other team you can survive the damage they throw back.
