Advice for 3* to 166

Hi all,
Sorry for another "advice" post for 3* but I always try to level my characters in equal way and it seems next season will be about getting 166 for me

I know CMags/Patch is a common choice and i'm working on getting CMags to max (currently 155 until i get a new cover)
But with the supposed nerf hanging around i'm not sure which 3 characters i should build for a team (to start)

Any advice for teams? I mix them all but I want to be sure which are worth getting to 166 first

And which is a good team Sentry based?

This my 3* roster as of now (the important ones at least):

147 CMags 5/3/4
125 Patch 5/3/5
125 Black Panther 5/3/5
125 Daken 5/5/3
125 Sentry 3/5/5
125 Hood 5/5/3
125 LThor 3/5/5
125 Punisher 3/5/5
125 Hulk 5/3/5
125 Spidey 3/5/5
110 Torch 5/3/5
100 Falcon 4/3/3
100 Psylocke 5/3/5
100 GBW 5/3/5

Thanks,

Sentry + UD + Hood is the premier Sentry-based team.

I know this is all about playstyle, and all things being on the table I wish I could give you better advice (I have exactly one 3* cover/level maxed out, and it's IM40 icon_e_confused.gif ).

Do you have Patch? If so, you must not consider him that important...and if I were you I would (at least until the CMags nerf). If you don't have him, there are other options (maxed BP can lay down some serious strike tiles).

LThor has become pretty popular. His pairing with CMags would give you three pretty beefy single attacks in different colors (MT, MM, TS) and of course CotS for the whole team. Not to mention CMags board control. If you go this route, you'd probably want a more support-minded character as your third. LDaken or BP would look pretty good here, and you'd have rainbow coverage if that tickles your fancy.

The more I look at LThor/CMags/<LDaken or BP>, the more I like it. It has drawbacks, but having potentially four to five fairly strong attacks combined with strike tiles and board hogging? You could do worse.

And this is all without regards to Sentry. Others can weigh in better on him than I could.

Looking at your roster the two best teammates for Sentry is Daken and/or Black Panther. Strike tiles plus world rupture is a beat down.
Daken also is nice with Cmags and Torch. If you get 5 yellow covers for your Falcon, he can upgrade anybodies strike tiles quickly with devestating effectiveness.
If you plan on Shield Hopping, than Sentry is the King and level him first and then a strike tile giver.
If you had Daken/Falcon/Sentry the dream sequence is get your greens and have 4 to 6 strike tiles out. Get your yellows and do the sacrifice and Rupture combo and the math says you could wipe out almost any opposing team in 5/6 turns.

IF you want a great defensive team and don't want to shield hop (After they fix the base bug issue), I might lean toward LThor + Black Panther + Hood and/or Sentry.

Torch does not play well with others and Falcon needs that 5 yellow. So you might want to put these on the back burner.
So for now I would ignore Hulk, Punisher, Spidey, Psylocke, and GBW.

So after Cmags you are left with Sentry/LThor/Black Panther Daken and the Hood.

i really don't use Sentry enough to know much of that, but this season ready offers little covers (i need mainly Falcon and one for CMags) so i will experiment a bit

Yes, same 125 level and 5/3/5 (seems quite useful since True healing) forgot to add him, I edited to include him
Sometimes i leave him with Hulk, to put a painful defensive team and i like him a lot but if the board control escapes a bit (lack of blue or running out of them) i just felt it can also backfire, although i admit it doesn't happen that often

That narrows it down from the other comments as well.
Its a good start as any, i guess those and Patch are main ones
I just need Falcon blue and yellow, shouldn't be hard

I'm just curious that nobody mentions Deadpool? seemed like the most decent characters of the last 4 released
Although with 7 covers i'm pretty far of those thoughts

Daken sentry should be your highest priority the moment you got enough covers for them, and its not close. The team wrecks everyone on offense, is sustainable because of daken regen, and is one of the best defensive teams to boot. Your third is largely irrelevant since youre going to be using featured char + daken + sentry. Patchneto is significantly worse for pushing because both teams finish is roughly the same time, but patchneto paints a huge target on your head (theyre so easy to kill on defense that anyone who sees you is going to hit you, daken sentry not as much at ~700+). Patchneto is more sustainable but you can easily push from 700 to 1100 with iso boosts off of 5 health packs, so its fine.

Also consider this: patchneto works by getting 9 green/5blue and then spamming attacks for 2 minutes to kill the enemy team off, daken sentry is 3 green matches into world rupture oops your entire team is now dead.

For your 3rd guy i would consider bp or hood: bp gives you more options with his yellow paried with sentry, hood is needed to face other hood teams and is a really good defensive deterrent although he wont be as impactful on offense.
