Help With Roster and Direction in Game

Hello Everyone!

I just recently found the forums and am currently reading through a bunch of the material. Some of this stuff is still sort of foreign to me. Currently I am on Day 27 and have the following roster:
    **2 Star**
    MNMagneto 3/5/5 (Level 87)
    MNThor 3/5/5 (Level 71)
    CStorm 4/5/4 (Level 60)
    A.Wolverine 5/5/3 (Level 36)
Johnny Storm HT 5/5/3 (Level 33)
    Ares 4/4/5 (Level 27)
    Moonstone 1/5/4 (Level 22)
    OBW 2/5/4 (Level 17)
    MHawkeye 3/3/5 (Level 15)

    ***3 Star***
    Spiderman 1/3/5 (Level 50)
    Hood 1/1/2 (Level 43)
    The Punisher 1/2/0 (Level 43)
    Deadpool 1/3/0 (Level 42)
    Psylocke 1/1/2 (Level 40)
    LStorm 1/2/1 (Level 40)
    Hulk 2/1/1 (Level 40)
    Captain America 2/1/0 (Level 40)
    IM40 1/2/0 (Level 40)
    LThor 1/0/2 (Level 40)
    Patch 2/0/0 (Level 40)
    Daredevil 1/1/0 (Level 40)
    Black Panther 1/0/0 (Level 40)
    GSBW 0/1/0 (Level 40)

Should I work on leveling Spidey or finish my 2*s. Also I really dont know how to finish on top during pvp events. A lot of my covers came from PvE/Tokens. Thanks in advance for the advice. I feel like im floundering at this point with no direction, farming iso for my 2*s. Also in PvE how many times should I be completing a node before moving onto the next?

    • Most of the 3* show their value when you have 10/11 covers and on the right colour
you should work on doing the transition on the right order 2* first, then 3*

OBW is a key player due to steal/heal/espionage skills, she's a common support better than spidey at those levels

you should probably work them to level 94, to the usual teams combos you will see on pvp:
      OBW/Ares
      MNMags/CStorm
      OBW/Thor
      A. Wolverine/OBW

Usually you hit a wall the so called 2-3* transition, when you start facing teams harder to beat including some 3*
only till then you have to worry about leveling more 3* for more damage but right now none of them could replace a 2* in that conditions

Quite often the three star characters are rather useless except in some of the lightning rounds and certain pve events. You do not want to invest in them too much if they don't have enough covers.
Most people advise NOT to level a 3 star character unless you have at least 10 of the covers.

So you might want to work on a few combinations.
Cstorm 5 Blue with Magnetos 5 Purple is an extremly powerful combination against other 2 star teams. Collect 9 purple, make enough blues to get 11 for Storms ability and do a nice AOE.
Add in Thor or Ares and you have a powerful tank.
You want to concentrate on one character at a time in leveling.
The most versatile of your low level characters is OBW because of her healing and stealing.

I would level in this order to level 94 these characters
      MNMagneto
      Cstorm
This will give you a powerful team to compete in many events.
Afterwards 3 or 4 of these you might want to get to level 94 in this order
      MN Thor
      OBW
      ARES and/or Wolverine.

At that point you should have had some more covers drop for your three stars. If you do not you can upgrade Johnny Storm but he doesn't always play well with others unless that other is named Daken.

      Good Luck
    • Thanks for the advice guys! I'm currently trying to do well in the PVE event as well as get Magneto to 94. It helps that he's buffed for the event

See my guide for more detailed explanations, but I would suggest the following as a TLDR:

Step 1. Finish leveling your C. Storm / MN Mags / Thor team. This is a mid-tier team and not ideal, but you've invested so much iso into it that you might as well.

Step 2. Build a true top-tier 2* team, which would be OBW/Thor/HT for you. OBW's purple is essential, Ares is slightly better than Thor but you have thor maxed and the two are interchangeable, and Torch is by far the best third for OBW/Thor. If you have a 3* character reasonably close to being better than your 2*s (so around 9 or 10 covers), skip step 2.

Step 3. Transition into 3* land.
    • Also, as a side note, expect this to be a long process. You will be playing those 2* characters for a long time before you have 3* characters that can start to replace them. You will be severely limited in what you can earn in pvp events. Once you hit a certain point threshold, people attack more, and knock you down to about the same level. Once you determine that average level where you can't progress anymore, start building to that number slowly, picking only a couple higher point matches a few times a day. They are foolish to retaliate (it still happens tho) as they receive very little in return. When you are able to, get as many matches in at the closing 20-30 minutes of the event (figuring out how many matches you can complete on your health pack supply AND how long it takes to reach that point is that mystery number to fill in for the range). You want to sneak in as many points in the closing minutes as possible when able... as most match ending times are not very friendly on when they end. ie., 1am and 1pm are common end times here in EST timezone, which is terrible for a family man with a job.

Finally, I suggest putting as much as you can into farming pve nodes every 2.5 hour refresh and getting as far as you can in lightning rounds if you have excess health packs. The pve reward will be a nice bonus, and both help you farm iso which will come in very handy later. You may sit on a stash of 200,000 iso or more before you have significant enough covers for 3* characters to make them worth leveling. It'll be nice to have it already on hand when that time comes around.

I personally went with a far more impatient route and AFTER leveling everyone I could as far as I could, I would save up 25,000 of Iso or so and then dump it into buying standard recruit tokens (500 Iso each). As I currently have too many unleveled 3*, I haven't done this in a few months now, but back in May I was pulling a 3* from 1 in 50 Standard Tokens I bought like that.

I've been tracking my Standard Tokens and that's about right (actually slightly low,) out of 615 tokens I pulled 21 3* which is 3.4% - about 1 in 29. I wouldn't do that, though - you will hit a point when you need more Iso than covers.

As people said here - get a good 2* team, even several 2* teams, and horde covers and Iso until you get 9-10 covers in a 3*. If that 3* will be useful to you, level it. Speaking for myself - I crept a few of my 3*s up when they are powered up, but I didn't level anyone past 60 who I don't at least use in PVP (in lightning rounds, particularly) or PVE.

For the longest time I had two 3*s above 100 and maxed out (the Hulk and the Hood,) and that was it. I've finally hit a point where I can't max out all my 3*s who are soft-capped over 100, so I'm hording iso and only levelling them when it will be useful.

      Ha, you aren't kidding there!

At this point, between the occasion pulls I do get (I just had a nice hot streak) & event rewards; I currently only need 400,386 Iso to reach the current level cap for all my 3* or 4* characters. That is of course contingent on me not earning any more covers during that time. Somehow I'm pretty sure I never spent as much Iso on recruit tokens as I still need, and that's even considering about 100,000 of that is directly related to my dumping Iso in that hole.

Considering the sale on Iso right now, it would only cost me a little over $400 to buy that Iso...hmm, doesn't sound like the best investment when I put it like that now does it?
