Improved A.I.?

Not complaining but just wanting to know if anyone else thought that the A.I. played tougher the last 1/2 hour or so of Season IV?

  • AI changes are made frequently. It's 1 of the things where constant minor changes are made regularly. Having a change made in the list 30 minute of a tourney though are highly highly unlikely. Most likely a random spell of bad luck.

    I get what you're saying and I don't "think" they would do that. In the last hour I was probably winning every 3 out of 4 or 5 matches, it just seemed like they were stockpiling AP and then unloading a barrage of specials. I've seen it play like that before but this was almost every game. Just wondered if it was me or not?

    Wow, this forum doesn't have a gif limit? That's not very wise.

    Anyway, this is most likely because Spidey can slow a fight significantly (249 has 180 protects with zero webs) and the AI makes its matches to try and maximize a cascade. It gets lucky more often during longer fights.

    I think so, too. During the last couple of days, the AI has been consistently denying me the best colour. i.e. in the Punisher nodes, the AI grabbed all green and red (even when they didn't need it) and I was usually looking at a mostly blue and purple board, while in the Spidey nodes, the AI gobbled all purple and blue and I was left staring at an useless green and black board all the time.

    I came here to start this exact same thread. It has gotten smarter over the past couple of days. Before, the moves were random. Now, if I place a special tile, the Ai will target it at once. I just had a match where the Ai even skipped over a match 4 just to destroy Psylockes blue count down. **** ! I thought the Ai was Always supposed to go for the match 4 first. Then yesterday, against Big Thor, Hulk and Spidey, the Ai made a smart move again. Instead of going for green, which Thor and Hulk, both use, it went for the strike tile my Sentry dropped. It's like someone found the Ai brain's "on" button and just had to push it.

    On the bright side, smarter Ai means not only more challenging game play, but less defensive losses.

    I did have one occurrence of the AI holding a power when i was trying to bait it into hitting patch. I am pretty sure the PvE match up was Moonstone juggs and rags. The AI had less then 11 but more then 6 red AP I kill moonstone i believe with power then match yellow with patch to eat the thunderclap or headbutt but it didn't come, i did another match with patch and then they released it. I know when i was using OBW regularly i always felt the AI targeted her more but it was probably more of anything other then a standard match 3 felt like a grievous attack with her lol.
  • The AI uses a cheaper AP cost power when it potentially has a more expensive one in the same color with a random chance, but that hasn't stopped anyone from being convinced that the AI is saving the Headbutt for Spiderman, OBW, The Hood, Magneto, or whoever your most vulnerable character is.

    There might also be a "gentle nudge" in the decision tree if the cheaper power is going to down the character in front, making it not 50/50 random but more like 60/40 or 70/30. There could even be a similar nudge added to the other way if the power is not going to down the character, so it saves up a little more often than half the time.

    PvE always has DA team ups

    There's like six DA characters (no 2* Daken) so sentry comes up a lot

    It's because the enemy gets 3 T-Us per game. So basically, 1 in 2.
