Are there any user mods left?

Not a complaint topic, just an observation.

I've noticed that several people that were mods are no longer mods. I know of at least one case as to why, but the others just either disappeared or are no longer mods. Are there any left?

  • Riggy is still around, but not super-active.. A few of the others either disappeared or have scaled back their posting severely. We're not totally mod-less, but not far from it.

IceIX has been saying that he'd promote more people....for like 2-3 months icon_lol.gif
  • I'll be truthful. After all we've seen, and especially after how Nonce was treated, I think you'd have to be crazy to be a mod on this site. The job basically is doing the job that the company is supposed to be doing for free, taking the shots of customers that the company should be taking, and then, if you say anything remotely critical, you can be thrown out of your job with no warning. It's a thankless job, and let's be truthful, the higher ups in this company belong in a Dilbert comic strip. We should stop having buffers like mods taking the shots. Let the people who are getting paid do the job.

Not to be rude because I do like a lot of people on here as much as I can like people I'll probably never meet and have a real relationship with, but I'd be a good mod because I give absolutely zero **** what any of you people think of me and the boards need the help. I'd do my job and nothing any of you say would bother me in the least.

Also not meant to be rude but....

I think the point is that it would be nice to deal directly with an employee rather then an unpaid mod that would "give absolutely zero tinykitty what any of you people think of me".

Your comment is a completely fair opinion but it does nothing for the level of customer service patrons wish to receive from D3.

I have to say as a new user it would be nice to get a post approved before the event that I'm posting about is over - but I understand people can't be around 24/7

I meant that more as nothing anyone on here says will cause me to quit, not that I don't care about the community. I actually really do care about the community which is why I'm barely on here anymore. All of the spam, the constant and repeated rules violations by the same people without recourse, etc. If there were more mods that could be active more often then this could be a great place. Well, it is a great place, it could be better though.

I don't really post much, but I stop in on the weekends to approve the 50-100 posts that d3p ignores (why is approval even required on alliance subforums anyways?), and sticky things that should get public attention so they can't be left buried

Wait, there's post approval? How are all these 1 post spam posts getting through then?

because it's only in the alliance subforum loool
and heaven forbid I be given the ability to admin things like that, because clearly metrics show that filthy moderators like us can't be trusted

incidentally, maybe this is giving away amazingly hush hush trade secrets, but Silverhawk is more or less sitting on top of the spam and banning all the posters that get reported
He just hasn't seem to have figured out post approval yet.

Basically they're now paying someone to do the job that Nonce was doing for free, because:
    a) they couldn't be bothered to answer his questions once every 3 months or so
and b) for some insane reason they can't be bothered to implement a real solution that would take all of half an hour, max - including googling how to do it.

and also not nearly as efficiently, going by the timestamps on the logs
