Okay, so my girlfriend very wisely purchased a shield believing it preserve her ranking (not her points), and yeah obviously it doesn't work that way lol.

She's playing in Category-5 and she has about 250 points, but the top of her bracket right now is shielded at 670, so I feel like if she can get back into matches she cam win, she mind ne able to climb higher. How many matches should she throw? Do retreats count?

Thanks for the help.

I can't give you advice about tanking because I never do that . . . .I would only play matches that have higher points than I have. That way you minimize retaliation and you are always gaining.

Wait, she's at 250 and can't win any matches at that number? Am I reading that right with about 3 hours left to go in the PvP?

She's in 1* Land, so it's not a huge reach. She's probably just where she's gunna be, but yeah, she's got a three nodes of 96s.

After thinking about it, I'm going to have her skip some nodes to see if she's slipped at all since she did lose around 100 points from retaliations before she shielded.

While she can try to tank her MMR, using 1*s to surpass 670 is... rather over-ambitious.

I agree. She's trying to secure 400 so she has the best chance to get Deadpool covers.

    [Edit]

After having her skip a node, her opponents were more responsible.

Though, I am still somewhat curious for myself in the future, what metrics people use for tanking.

icon_e_sad.gif I wish 400 was enough for me to get Deadpool. So jelly right now.

Opponents' character levels after doing a few skips to clear your existing opponent queue.

Hers? Right where they should be. Mid-transition teams.

Mine were fine at the time, I was just curious for standard metrics for future reference. I'm going to try and be more serious about PvP.

She ended up with Deadpool cover 305 points (and in Rank 43 - #1 had 800 points). I got a Captain America with 438 (in rank 197 - #1 had 1200 points).

No, Hailmary meant we gauge if we tanked enough by the levels of our opponents after skipping say 5 times.
So if we see anything lower than all 166s after a few skips, then we're on the right track.
When you see the desired level of opponents appear in your nodes after skipping you know you've tanked sufficiently.
