LCap Tag Team Partner?

So right now, LCap is my first and only maxed out 3*.

I want some opinions on who to pair him with PvP in mind.

My first go to is Hood right now, given how well they already go together. However, I will be lacking Purple and Green which makes 2 dud matches. I feel this hurts some efficiency if about 33% of the matches are duds.

My second choice is Punisher. It covers all colors except purple, so it is more efficient in terms of matches. I have a little more offensive abilities thanks to Punisher's Black and Green, but the synergy between the two are not as well as Hood's.

However, I am a bit unsure of other options.

My Hood right now is Lv 135 as 5/3/5 (Will respec) and Punisher is 127 at 4/3/3.

The problem is LCap kind of sucks in PVP. Once he gets going he's fine but getting the ball rolling is hard without some assistance so he really only pairs well with OBW, IM40 and Hood.

That said if you're concerned about colour coverage Punisher is probably your best option. You still won't have anyone covering purple but his speed will help offset some of Caps sluggishness.
  • Since I already made a topic, how about partner for Punisher aside from OBW?

CMags is probably your best bet at least until he's nerfed. You pretty much have to have 5 in blue though. BP might not be awful since you can just make tons of strike tiles with yellow and green and then use a huge aoe to finish things off.

Just about anyone really. I've paired him up with Black Panther, Hood, CMags, Psyduck, Doom, Daken, Storm(s), Ares, TinyThor and GSBW pretty well in the past. I haven't tried Torch (too much colour overlap) but they should work reasonably well together - throw out Judgement and then any green after that is reserved for Flame Jet.

OBW only gets the nod ahead of others thanks to double-dipping on the strike tiles.
  • How about Patch? I know CMags, Daken and OBW. But anyone else?

What about the third player for PvE with LCap Hood?
  • Lazy Cap, Hood, BWGS. Hood Feeds ALL the high AP abilities with GSBW not only feeding her green, causes Aid to steal green.

You can lead with Captain Marvel to face tank ability's with her Yellow. You'd get the red AP faster and you can then proceed to throw shields at everything for game.

2* land - oBW and Storm play well
3* land - I like Panther, plus no defensive overlaps - Team bomb on Black, Individual bombs on Green and Red, Attack tiles from Green Red Yellow, even (****) shields on Blue. Outside of that, Falcon (Redwing cleans enemy tiles), IM40 (generates 9 red then self stuns), Hood
  • Captain America is a hard person to build a team around for PvP because the game design sucks. He goes the best with The Hood, but then you'd need someone who can use green but not red as the featured character and I'm pretty sure every character that satisfies this criteria also sucks. If such a person exist, you'd have a very potent team, but it's written in blood somewhere that apprpoximately half of the characters in the game must have red and green as their colors. Right now, it is not possible to have a team that doesn't have another red power that also covers green, which is the strongest offensive color by far, but if your team has another red power cheaper than 11 then Captain America is useless due to how the AI plays him. This leaves Hulk and Patch as your only viable partners but Captain America has no meaningful synergy with those two guys, and even then you often are forced to include someone with a red power cheaper than 11 AP by the format of an event.

I wrote this extremely long post giving an analysis of Hood + LCap with every other character in the game, but the forum made me relog in and I lost it after the log in.
TLDR: Note that these rankings ignore defense because that's too complicated.

    Ratings:
LazyThor / C. Mags / Fury / GSBW are the best because they have strong green/purple abilities and/or synergize well with the duo.
MoStorm / Sentry / Deadpool / BP are good because they have decent synergies, but don't really have strong green/purple abilities to shore up the color weaknesses.
Patch / Daken are passable only because they have regen.
Everyone else is poor with them.

Some highlights of my old post:
Considering creating a guide with detailed analysis on how to build a good team. Here is thought process behind who is best 3rd with Hood + Cap:
    1. Cap's red is best when used early, and is good enough to be used over every other red in the game. Therefore, we aren't going to use any other person's red, and we can't have too many other expensive powers that we want to prioritize since we're going to be spending as many matches on Cap's red as possible. Ideally we want 1 other super strong color to have something to do if we can't get red.
    2. Strike tiles are lame with Cap/Hood. Strike tiles work best with characters that have cheap abilities / attack tiles, of which we have either. Furthermore, strike tiles need to be put out early to maximize effectiveness, which goes against our all in on red. Punisher, for instance, gets infinitely worse if you're judgementing midgame as opposed to rushing it, whereas you don't really care if you use rage of the panther midgame since it finishes off the enemy team. Strike tiles = early game priority. Cap red = early game priority. Bad synergy!

    Random character thoughts -
Daken - Terrible synergy. Can't do anything with the green AP, so hes basically there for incidental strike tile / regen value. It's sad that that alone makes him average tier, since I would prefer to have my teams to have interesting synergies than to just be Daken + 2 randos.
Patch - Marginal synergy since I suppose you can do something like zerker rage + cap stun the last guy and go to town, but by then the game should be already over so its win more. You're never casting his green early since strike tiles don't do much on this team. Again, regen is the only thing keeping him afloat.
  • Personally, I like pairing Lcap with LThor.

It's using the same defense strategy that I have been seeing in 2* land (2* Thor & Ares), getting skipped over by many simply because most don't care to take the time to go through all those hit points. Hulk works, too, but LThor packs more of a punch and uses yellow more effectively.

    Just my 2 pennies.

    Also - first post. Woot!
