Thank you.
To a lot of people, more people than i can name and to the ones who work behind the scenes, too.
Where to start? i guess i should begin with Marvel comics for giving us such wonderful characters! Although my relationship with American comics is some weird on again, off again romance?? they definitely made up a significant part of my childhood and Marvel has always somehow managed to (re)capture my fancy. Special shout out to Spidey! You will always be my number one!
Next, to the talented staff of demiurge and D3. Thanks for making such an awesome game! i dropped my previous addiction *cough* Puzzle & Dragons*cough* cold for this game and even dropped money for the first time ever for an app game last night to celebrate half a year of non-stop fun (and occasional pinches of frustration haha), the arrival of Deadpool and because the stars aligned and there was a nice sale! i plan on using my newly acquired HP to build my top secret alliance, buy slots for the inevitable arrival of Gambit and Silver Surfer *wink wink*, and shield hopping for fun! i understand there are still a lot of kinks to be worked out, magic formulas to be tweaked and other secret stuff but i, for one, believe in you! Thank you for the fun times and here's hoping to even more fun to come!
And of course, i cannot forget this fantastic forum! who to thank first? i guess Polarity definitely deserves a shout out for composing an awesome beginners guide without which i would have made a lot of silly mistakes and not progressed as smoothly as i did (not without a lot of bumps and crashes mind you haha). i actually only recently read Eddiemon's guide to PVE but it's still legit and has a lot of useful info (although a touch outdated, perhaps?). Then there are the big guns: the Veterans! Some have gone, some still remain, to be honest, there are way too many to name. (personal fave is laoahpeh btw). You guys are who i look up to and hope to compete with toe to toe someday.
Then there are the mid-tiers. i have only recently come to wander fully into 3* land. It took 6 months, a lot of reading up on the game, planning, a new cell battery and many days with less sleep but the pay off is truly sweet. Punisher was my first fully covered, fully maxed character (about 2-3 months ago) but within the past month i have finally gotten all the covers for 5 characters (although their builds will need some tweaking) and have another handful at the border. Add a great run on the Deadpool event and it has been a magic month for me! However, this pay off has been months in the making. As has been mentioned in the halls of this forum before, choose your battles wisely. Don't be greedy. You won't win every battle and not every cover will come to you easily. Patience and prudence are you friends. With that being said, be careful of boosts. Although i'm unashamedly a boost junkie (let's be honest there is fun taking down a big gun you know you have no real business messing with) i am now trying to ween myself off the addiction to build my characters up. No regrets tho! o(*^▽^*)o I guess what I am trying to say is do what you got to do to win but understand it's going to take time, making mistakes and sacrifice.
Someone on this forum once said "You got to lose to win" playing this game. And it's true but eventually you too can join the rank of champions that bring glory and honor to PvP battles. So thank you for sticking it out this far and i hope to see you in *3 star land too.
To the beginners, welcome to the madness that is MPQ. Just like all things in life change is the name of the game here! This game may be at its core a 3 match puzzle game but you will find what you thought you knew worked one day may not work the same again the next day. Do not be afraid! Be careful how you invest your HP (slots, slots and more slots!) and try not to fill your slots with just 3* characters in the beginning (otherwise it will be a long ride). Read up and ask questions. There are plenty of kind forum members on here! and most of all have fun!
To the whales and big spenders, thank you! Although I have finally made my donation of appreciation to the save the devs fund it does not compare to your contribution to the game. It's because of you that so many more are able to enjoy the game for free. One can only hope that your wealth will only continue to prosper and that you never grow bored of this game!
To the game gurus who wax philosophical about game mechanics, best builds, algorithms, MMR conspiracy theories and what not...to be honest i don't understand half of what you are talking about but i think it's great that you can take it to that next level! Thanks for making the forums more than just a big complain dump and trying to discern the secrets of the game (And eventually translating your findings to simple person terms!) I like talking about the meta game of the meta game with myself but that's something i believe i best keep to myself.
To the Europeans calling for a truly fair game, thank you for not giving up your fight. It is your right to complain and to demand change. i hope that day comes sooner rather than later, and i appreciate your persistence and civility in pursuing the matter. A global game should truly be global. Hopefully the devs will be able to answer your call to bring down this time wall!
To the mods, thank you for volunteering to take the time to keep this place tidy and respectable. i honestly don't know who the mods are besides Riggy (a little late but congratulations on the twins!) and the rebel bad **** Nonce (you will always be a mod in my eyes, you single handedly held the fort down during the period of Silence) but to those that work in the shadows or those that wish to take their place, thank you!
And to the naysayers and ne'er-do-wells, thank you for taking the time for calling the devs out. Someone has to get their hands dirty when things go wrong and i am unfortunately too carefree and positive in nature to (yes i like the taste of the kool-aid. it packs a mighty punch! OH YEAH!) but i appreciate your efforts to make the game better. you do for the most part have valid criticisms (the Daken nerf comes most recent to mind) and have influenced development decisions. Please don't forget that.
And finally, to the devs and staff that take the time to communicate with the forum, especially IceIX and Demiurge_Will, thank you. i know you must be very busy people (you keep talking about hats! i gather you must have quite the collection!) and also have lives outside of MPQ but your presence here is really appreciated.
well i believe that just about wraps it up!
i don't know how often i will be posting on this forum (i am a slow writer and this post took a lot more time than i had originally planned haha but totally worth it)! if i don't see you here, i'm sure i'll see you out there!! (out there as in on that app game thing we spend so much time playing!!)
All the best!

Edited to add: Oops! I almost forgot to thank everyone who has contributed financially to the "save the devs fund", not just the Whales! Whales! Whales! And of course to the countless people i have battled via AI proxy! haha Crazy times!!

Thank you, we hear so much negativity it is easy to become a bit cynical. It is always a great and refreshing thing to hear posts like this.0

Did you just win an Oscar?0

That would explain the symphonic public domain music i heard halfway through the post.0

I hear you, I came from a certain Marvel garbage game uh, no wait that's Mobage game...wait is that right?.... (well they are so similar I get them mixed up) anyway, I'm here now and very happy despite any bumps or the fact that I'm a newbie who's way behind in covers. D3 has done an awesome job so far. I understand you can't please everyone but at least they are trying. Also kudos on Deadpool, I loved the inside jokes and the whole event in general.0

omg, a shout out to me!? that is a first. are you trying to get kissed? because that is how you get kissed. passionately.
anyway you are right, MPQ is so frustrating simply because we love it so much that it hurts to see it fail.0 -
Anyone taking the time to write such detailed positive post deserves an upvote.
Although I was half expecting something along the line of "it's been real, thank you for the fun, I quit" at the end. /shakes head at self0 -

I found myself originally thinking the whole thing was pure sarcasm... then I realized about halfway through that wasn't the case. Apparently, I've come to never expect anything positive on the internet.0 -
Jesus christ man, it's too damn early in the morning for brown-nosing. At least get paid for doing something like this, geez.0

shout out to laoahpeh. Shout out to laoahpeh, the best writer on the forum. Shout out to laoahpeh. To laoahpeh, the most interesting and talented forumite of all time.
Now as to the OP, very well put. There are a lot of people that work very hard to make these games, so a little recognition and appreciation is way over due. Most of what you read on here is nothing but players complaining over tiny little thing. You can please most of the people some of the time or some of the people most of the time. But you can never please all of the people all the time. Considering the fact that the developers never studied at Hogwarts, and therefore are not magicians, I for one am very pleased with the game. There are a few minor things I would alter, but overall I am greatly satisfied. So from me as well, thank you to D3 and Demiurge for giving us this great game.

Almost as bad as retirement threads.0

Kind of sickens me that I wasn't mentioned.
Guess I will be bringing out the voodoo doll again.0 -
OP oozes positivism. It is a rare trait indeed in an internet user. Reading the whole post almost touched me and made me want to see things in a more optimistic way. Have I seen the light? Then I tried to score some points in Thick as Thieves and realized that the proverbial glass IS actually half-empty... and leaking, to the boot. Tinykitty that is a one broken and frustrating PvE...
But kudos to the OP for the attitude. Keep it up!0 -
@acescracked: not yet! haha
@laoahpeh: Wow! You just made my day!! i'm so happy to see that you are still hanging around!! thank you!
@TU1: *hugz* my apologies! i meant you no disrespect and do not wish to incur your anger. i would be a fool to make an enemy of such a great, powerful and legendary puzzler. please forgive my oversight! m(_ _)mソリー0
