How do I send my data to CS?

One of the commanders in my alliance, who plays on Steam, has a problem. He has contacted CS and sent a request, but they say they can't grant it until he sends them his data - the numbers that are automatically included when you send them an e-mail by clicking on the envelope icon on the opening page of the game.

The trouble is, no matter how many times he tries, that link doesn't work for him; so he can't learn his data, and thus can't have his request granted.

Does anyone know how to solve this? Any help will be much appreciated.

On the start screen there is a long string of numbers, which is the version information. I don't know how you would get your player ID, though.
