A few questions for IceIX or any other employee.
1.Will something be done about skipping. I keep cycling through the same 3-5 opponents who are under my points by a huge margin. when i get past 1000-1100 range.
2.MMR will there be any changes to this system in the future?
(tanking has to be the most tedious/necessary part of the game right now)
3. why do levels reach so high in pve?
(can't you come up with a reasonable max level for enemies. rosters have a max. in the unstable iso 8 I faced a level 316 venom being fed black ap by a 316 maggia with a 315 rag thrown in for good measure. at those levels venom can devor for 5500. not to mention the maggia can put two strike tiles out for 1750 then its game over if they get a cascade. this is just overkill.)
4.will I ever be able to use my android account on pc?(this is by far the most wanted feature for me that you don't offer)no more changing batteries.
5. can team ups stay like boosts from match to match?so i don't have to manually select them every match

According to D3, some people consider me an employee, so I suppose I'll answer these.
1.Will something be done about skipping. I keep cycling through the same 3-5 opponents who are under my points by a huge margin. when i get past 1000-1100 range.
--- Once you get up to those levels, there aren't many opponents matching your score.
2.MMR will there be any changes to this system in the future? (tanking has to be the most tedious/necessary part of the game right now)
--- There have been several changes to MMR over the last few months, and tanking is less effective now. Besides, D3 is programming the game. D3 can't tell you the best way to subvert their programming. Try the Tips and Guides section for MMR advice. It's nowhere near as bad as it used to be.
3. why do levels reach so high in pve? (can't you come up with a reasonable max level for enemies. rosters have a max. in the unstable iso 8 I faced a level 316 venom being fed black ap by a 316 maggia with a 315 rag thrown in for good measure. at those levels venom can devor for 5500. not to mention the maggia can put two strike tiles out for 1750 then its game over if they get a cascade. this is just overkill.)
--- Levels can go up to 395. If you grind in PvE hard enough, yes, you can hit the high levels. But you've really got to grind hard to see levels like those.
4.will I ever be able to use my android account on pc?(this is by far the most wanted feature for me that you don't offer)no more changing batteries.
--- The cryptosecurity for this would be tricky. When all reports of cheating are in the distant past, then the program will be secure enough to ponder this option.
5. can team ups stay like boosts from match to match? so i don't have to manually select them every match.
--- That's one of the popular choices in the Team Up Poll.0 -
No offense but I would like someone with a red name to answer this.
But in response to your answers.
1. There's multiple people above 1100 up to 1600. So no there are many opponents matching my score and higher.
2.Tanking still works just fine this question was more for a friend who is having trouble with the 166 wall at 700+ range. And telling from the recent scores in pvp a lot of people are finding it very easy to subvert thier programming.
3. the characters have a predetermined level enemies should also.not crazy scaling. But to be fair I only see it every other pve.
4.multiple other games do this. And security is a illusion. it will never be secure. And people cant really tell if someone is cheating unless its blatantly obvious.
5. I've seen the poll....
I enjoy the game and like the direction its going people complain constantly about every little thing that changes but for the most part if your a true gamer you should embrace it and rise above.but most of my questions are relevant and I just want some answered. And no. 1 is really annoying spending 1000 iso to find someone above 3 points really burns me when there is others with 1400+ points on the leader board.0 -
Those guys with 1400 on the leaderboard unshield for maybe 3 or 5 minutes because they become huge targets if they stay unshielded any longer and any hit that comes in costs them tons of points. You have to get fairly lucky or check often to find one unshielded so he lands in your queue. I generally don't have this problem and routinely score in the 1000-1100 range, which doesn't invalidate your experience, just that whatever I'm doing differently (I don't tank, cause there's no point, maybe that's it?) leads to a different one. I will sometimes get stuck with 20-ish point matches, but skipping around enough will give me a decent match.
That said, the skipping thing is completely ridiculous, cause you end up skipping the same 5 people sometimes a dozen times before the game decides to match you with someone else. Skipping someone should remove them from your possible matches for some small amount of time so you don't get immediately re-queued with them. If this leads to you eventually having no one to match up against then clearly something is broken within the matchmaking algorithm and needs to be fixed asap.0 -
The chances of a D3 employee answering this are slim to none. Even less so since viable and correct answers were already given.
1) You want them to change this, so it would in turn become easier for someone who is already earning top rewards to get to the same point? I just don't see that happening. Its my belief that they must currently feel that the max-level playing field is over-populated, because every change they have made to the game in past months has only gone to make it harder.
2) The only wording I've ever seen in regard from official channels (IceX in this case) about tanking was dialog about 'making it less effective'. They don't seem to have any cares in the world at all about people getting stuck in point thresholds, not being able to place well, or getting jammed into brackets full of heavy hitters. All working as intended as far as we can tell. They do want to remove 'boring gameplay' however, so I would not be surprised if tanking eventually becomes a thing of the past. The epic amount of whining that will ensue when every player is forced to fight in their own weight class...
3) Community scaling and personal scaling both have to heavily lend a hand for a max player to also max the levels of pve nodes. The players that can still beat the nodes that are scaled up to deadly (or even hard if its a tough combo as you listed) are going to likely pull the max rewards, since most cant. Again, very likely working as intended. Otherwise it would only be a function of who could play the most. That's a big part of it, granted. Still, I always lose a placement ranks in the final hours by people with great rosters that are able to clear nodes faster and/or clear the bigger point nodes with the harder scaling.
4) 'This is currently a feature on our agenda', has been stated numerous times across multiple posts by D3. Still, I wouldn't hold my breathe waiting. I really love sitting at the computer to play it on the big screen. Being able to see AP of both sides at a glance without constantly swiping side to side is nice, as is a screen bigger than an index card. I too would love to see this.
5) Probably. Along with the delete button we're told is 'on its way'.0 -
thanks squirrel thats mostly the way i feel. but alienating the people who keep playing is a horrible business model.0

I'm the only squirrel around here, pal.0

Ice was once asked which threads he was most likely to respond to, he said pretty much whichever ones he wants but those explicitly calling out himself or the devs would likely go unanswered.0
