How do I get rid of USELESS TU quickly?

edited August 2014 in MPQ Tips and Guides
Honestly, I thought the nerfing useful covers, or the so called rebalance, was stupid enough. Until TU came along. icon_rolleyes.gif

Can someone give some good advice how to get rid of those USELESS junks as quickly as possible? Thanks.

This thread is probably what you're looking for.

TL;DR version: Take MStorm/Mostorm + Whoever, equip the surplus team ups and go fight "Call Him Ragnarok" in the Dark Avengers.

I have found that Hulk and Spidey with Storms works well, the high health of the Hulk and Spidey purple for defensive tiles and blue for stunning help you stay alive long enough to get rid of those useless TU. And those two aren't being used in gameplay for me anyways.
  • I am sitting at 20 teamups with nothing that is horrible. At this point, I only use a teamup in a match if I want a power/powers that the other team has. I did not use any in PvE (except the 3star Daken node), because everything you could win, to phrase it kindly, sucked. It's another layer of strategy for every battle, whether the teamups you could receive are worth opening a spot for them.

I agree that the Rags prologue is the best place to unload as well
  • Would be nice if we could manage TUs a lot more. Organize/sort them, delete **** ones, create a default "loadout". Right now, I'm just trying to burn some of the less exciting/useful ones whenever possible, I haven't even begun to strategize with them.
  • You do it when you tank. It gives a task to the monotony of trying to lose.

The problem with doing it while tanking is that you'll just end up getting another **** one to take its place.

    This.

The only way to get rid of them is in goon fights.

You only get a new TU if you win the fight. If you get a new TU while tanking you're doing it wrong. icon_e_biggrin.gif

That's what happens when I try to post at 7am after being up all night seeing if the server is back
  • Goon levels in pve and prologue is the way to go. I don't even use tu when playing against my post-tank opponents. In fact, even higher leveled teams are fought against without, unless I want something from them. I dump the ones that suck or take too many tiles to activate.

Ok my method. First you want a weak team as to not to kill the goons too fast.
Level 50 one star Storm with 5 covers in yellow/green. Low ranked fully covered 3/5/5 Cap. One star Hawkeye fully covered 5/5.
Hawkeye reds can wipe out a row to kill count down tiles. His purples can help match as well and they are cheap.
Storm with her 5 yellow cover and green cover can generate a lot of Team up tile kills. For long goon battles, cap is very good at wiping out count down tiles by overiding them.
I usually can get rid of the worst team ups rather quickly this way.

This team also seems to be the safest and most expendable for me.
Substitutes. For storm or cap..if you want to get rid of a storm/cap team up, I find tile destroyers for AP are nice. OBW and her blue can delay count down tiles to help you get enough team ups as well. Five cover in blue magneto is great for overwriting and is quick.
    I hope that helps.

I also make these suggestions on the premise that if have 19+ team ups you are most likely going to have the potential team up destroyers I am talking about.

If my suggestion helps please leave feedback. I don't want to be a trainee for ever or have to post funny meme's to get likes.
Please don't make me post MEME's to raise my epeen. I will do it.. I warn you.
  • Deleting a fully leveled toon so you can rebuild a low leveled but fully covered version... probably impractical, considering the next patch is supposed to have a delete function for teamups.

It sounds like a good method if you already have an unleveled, fully covered cap, mstorm and tiny hawkeye.

There are many people out there that don't buildup all their toons but have them fully covered. The method works in PVE mode as well, with higher level soldiers with about the same result.
