I want to spend some money but a bit stuck

I've spent a fair amount on MPQ so far and I'm looking to spend some more but I can't really decide where I'm going to get the best value.

I'm in a 2 star, sort of upgrading to 3 star position and have 21 roster slots. I'm veering towards buying some ISO but the amount you get for the money doesn't seem to be a particularly exciting deal, especially when I'd be upgrading my higher level characters.

So I could buy some tokens...but I already have a lot of characters and I'm at a point where I'm looking for specific powers as well, which makes the lottery of cover points very unappealing. Especially considering my Hunt long Hawkeye streak!

So abilities then. I hadn't even considered this before it was pointed out in another thread but my word this has to be the worst value for money in the game? I'd need to spend the 35/65 quid to get anywhere with it, especially when 3 stars are clocking in at 1250 per notch. Then obviously I'd need the ISO to make the most of the levels!

Bit of a rant I suppose but I really am a bit stuck as to what to buy.

Just my 2 cents. I had a low level rags at lvl 38. I kept getting killed as I only had thor n c.storm built up. I used my saved hero points on his abilities as I could not pull him and could not rank even top50 for a diabolical token. Best investment as I placed top 8 and top 25 and he has me at #1 in bad is good tourney. With all the matches played I have upgraded him to lvl 82 in one week. Granted I earned a ton of iso from the Hunt but its mostly all gone to Rags. So if u have a 3star rags or mags then u should consider it as it will help you compete in lightening rounds n tournies and get iso

When the game first rolled out, it made sense to purchase ISO from time to time for a boost (budget permitting). Since the big revamp that changed game to the current 5 stars per skills, purchasing ISO makes no sense. A few thousand ISO gains you a hand full of levels at best. It's as if they forgot to revamp the amount of ISO they offer in their store.

I recommend saving the cash, and keep grinding away until they revamp their store options.

Iso is much easier to farm vs. HP. I wouldn't put money into anything other than HP.

The devs have done a good job of targeting different value priorities. Cheaper purchases mean less certainty that you get what you want, which is fine when you're just collecting your first covers. As you get a larger collection, your needs are more refined (2 star covers become wasted HP, not a boost to your arsenal), and to get the specific purchase you need has a correspondingly higher price. Personally, the money I spent went into buying a couple Rag covers, and the rest has been stockpiled because I don't know what I want to do with it yet. They keep experimenting with different pack options, which makes me hesitant to pull the trigger.

There is no right answer.

I actually took the plunge on the Doom pack and ended up with 5 doom covers. Been desperate for a decent black/blue/purple character to fill a gap so i'm pretty happy.

Think that takes me to over 100 quid in the past few weeks though so no more purchases for me for a while

I'm on strike against buying heroic tokens with any HP I buy with real money since they doubled it's cost. ISO is way too overpriced to buy in the store and not worth it at all. Been using my in game earned HP to buy the hunt heroics and have been getting mostly throwaway covers that I already have maxed. Just seeing less and less incentive to spend money on this game.

The new daily deals could change your mind about that, we just have to wait and see what kind of deals we get, considering that the first ever deal seems like a good...deal.

I apply the same plan to this game as I do to CCG's... Buy packs at first when you're building up a collection, play around with what you've opened to figure out what you like, then stop buying packs and just buy "singles" (which in this game is the equivalent of paying for a skill-up.
1250 may sound like a lot for a skill-up, but the Heroic packs cost 300 and only give you a 10% chance at getting a 3 or 4 star. For the price of 4 heroic packs, you can guarantee getting the exact cover you want.
