Could MMR Affect Token Rewards?

I admit it, I tank. I got to the point where my one 3* and 2*s were always facing maxed teams and could rarely get even a top 150. But ever since I started tanking, and thus winning more and getting more gold tokens, I haven't pulled a single 3 or 4* cover from gold tokens. It's been over a month since I did and at least 15-20 gold tokens, at least.
I'm guessing this is just bad luck or weird karma handed down by the MPQ Gods, but I wanted to ask here to make sure. I've never read where MMR affected drop rates but I'm not sure on that.

    There is no evidence of any kind of situational change to token odds. Not from your MMR, or opening them in a batch, or at certain times of day, or any other wild theory you find on the forum.
