cmags or patch?
I've got a roster advice request.
Here's the roster:
Maxed Punisher (3/5/5)
Maxed Lazy Thor (3/5/5)
LVL 153 Patch (5/3/5)
LVL 122 Classic Magneto (5/4/1)
LVL 114 Lazy Daken (4/4/0)
Should I max up Patch first or try and soft cap CMags ASAP so that I can get a feeling for his gameplay before it's nerfed?
Thanks!

Uh, you can already use Mags freely. He doesn't need to be maxed to be useful. Damage dealers such as Patch require leveling sooner, besides, Patch can cover Magneto nicely on red/purple/green/yellow, only leaving him blue and black.0

Go with Patch.
Mags doesn't get a huge advantage out of levels unless you have a lot of purple covers - and you don't. And as Locked said, Patch can tank more colours for him better with more levels.0 -
Oh yeah, Mags' purple is totes useless at this point, but his blue and red already rock, so just use him as utility and a 3* modern Storm/cHawkeye (loops, cascades and crits). I think Patch will take black from Mags as well, they both have black at low values but extra levels just might help.0

Thanks for the advice, I'll keep pumping Patch and give CMags a try in the opening matches of the current PVP event and see how it goes (tried it when he was ~110, felt quite squishy, and I'm a bit bored with Patch gameplay at this point, hence the roster advice request)0

You may have already gotten a taste for him by now, but my cMags is "just" 5/3/4 and he has been amazingly fun, and quite awesome for me. My go-to team lately has been max Pun and cMags, who I leveled up to 140. Don't even feel the need to level him more than that, can wait to see how the nerf-bat swings before deciding whether or not to go the rest of the way. 5 blue is really completely broken, as you can often just chain-kill everyone if you've managed to get enough green to get some strike tiles on the table, and even if you haven't you can often use his blue to get the green to then kill everyone. It's quite fun and works well.0

Mine's the other way around - 3/5/4 - so he's not quite as broken but 2AP projectile spam is amazing0

Max out Patch.
I've been using 5/3/5 Patch + 5/4/4 CMags for my Patchneto combo in the last couple of weeks, and CMags barely gets any damage. A typical match goes like this:
1. Try to get 9 green and 6+ blue.
2. Check my red AP and see that I've gotten 6-12 red somewhere along the way.
3. Check that there are at least 6 green left on the board and a smattering of blue.
4. Fire Berserker Rage, use CMags blue to make blue matches, fire CMags red when bored, win.
Remember that CMags blue doesn't scale with level, and CMags red's level-scaled base damage is trivial compared to its ability to proc Patch's massive strike tiles.0
