Who to focus on first?

Hi all, I'm pretty new to this game and I'd appreciate any advice on which characters for focus on building up first. I dropped some money on this game so was able to get some 2* and 3* covers but I have a limited amount of ISOs so I'm not sure whether it's worth building up Iron Man 35 or saving them in the case that I can get some other 2* 3* covers to level up those characters.

I've got human torch johnny storm sitting in my rewards box. Dunno whether to sell since I have 3* torch.
also any advice on who to sell to make more room in my roster would be helpful.

You should keep IM 35 (best build 5/5/3) only as long as you don't have a usable Wolverine/Ares/Thor/Human Torch** to replace him as main damage dealers (classic Storm + Magneto MN will also work though they are bad on defense). And yes, you should keep Human Torch** as he is required for Essential nodes in The Hunt right now.
1* and 2* covers drop like candy in all Versus battles, so you can sorta 'focus' the best ones: original Black Widow, Ares and Thor. Apply any other covers you might get and do build a modern Black Widow (2/5) and a modern Storm (5/5/3) for yourself, they are the best stunner and the best AP generating characters and will compose a full rainbow with your IM 35 until you get more 2* covers. Never spend HP on any 1-2* covers though. Don't spend HP on anything besides roster slots until you get enough HP to both buy roster slots and shield in tournaments.

You can safely sell: Bullseye, Bag-Man, Moonstone. Would also sell Daken and Captain America ** if still pressed for space.

What he said. You should never sell 3* characters unless there's really no choice left. The 'safest' or 'least harmful' to delete might be GSBW, Daredevil, Spider-Man, Loki, Doom, Ragnarok (rarely required, but still required sometimes).
