So long shields, HP hoarding is a go!
Sure plenty others can agree, but seems retals have significantly dropped for me since True Healing was implemented. Sure during the last 15-20 I may get attacked 2-3 time, but that's really it sometimes. I'm assuming it's because the attacker would rather skip and find a much easier fight than risking winning but leaving too damaged. I know that's my frame of mind.
Thus, I've noticed my need for shields has diminished. Why waste 75-150HP when I can make that up in one final rush. Now it seems my HP will be hoarded only for roster slots (which is the best use and current lack of characters allows me to save)
Meaning NO NEED TO SPEND ANYMORE $$$
Am I trolling the Devs? Lol, maybe. But it is a true thing happening. Sitting on more HP than usual.

Clearly you aren't playing right if you're not spending 25$+ every pvp!
On that note you could buy a dozen games a week on what some people spend. The fact is a ton of the player base is walking away because money spent towards the game isn't going to anything holding our interest. My hp is piling up fast as there is zero end game in MPQ and nothing with spending on. No one plays like they used to in arcades, blindly throwing money at a machine to get the top name.... until the cabinet accidentally gets unplugged by the janitor. It was fun while it was fresh but that ended months ago. Guess you can hope your hp hoard earns interest!0 -
I'm in the same boat, but True Healing also brought me back into the game again. Getting slaughtered at the peak of the **-tier in the last hour to be bumped from the top 50 to the top 100 and getting a **** reward was pissing me off. Between the reward adjustment and the True Healing, I can play a little more than just casually and still get a good reward.0

This, exactly. I stopped playing pvp for a time except to occasionally pick up the bagman token at 300pts, because it was just throwing out hp to get a 2* cover I can't use because either I had it maxed or had no roster slot to spare.
Now I can break even on hp at least and also build up my 3*s a little at a time, so I'm actually playing more. Playing hard, even.0 -
What happens when Fury becomes a prize for ranking #1 or hitting 1300? PVP behavior may change when people start giving a snikt about placement and scores again.0

But most of your retaliations are going somewhere. It seems like players are skipping the tough fights and picking on weaker opponents. I'm getting hit as much as I ever was.0 -
This past season, I'm probably netting around 800HP per week, which has been nice. Starting to consider whether or not it's worth it to spend it on Fury covers...0

Yes, this. Would get to 300 and check back final hour to see where I was at. If I could win my way up to the tier where I could get some hero points in a couple of matches, I'd go for it. Otherwise, I'd lose my way back down to the 3x standard tokens. They have only a miniscule chance to draw a 3*, but the way I saw it, the 2* preset cover had 0 chance of turning into a 3* cover.
I remember actually being disappointed when I got a defensive win in the last couple of minutes that pushed me back up to a Moonstone cover.0 -
Probably more people just swallowed Ice at face value and jumped to use their "roster diversity" after the 2-3 games killing the A team. Thus injecting more weak teams than before and people snipe those leaving you more slack.
Guess it takes some time they all realize it's not that productive and/or fun and this phase will pass soon.
Also enjoy stuff while it lasts, few more wins and you'll be put with the 166 teams then will join the moaning crowd already there.
More also, PVP for loki or rags covers is not necessarily a good measure, I doubt you'll get hot covers that easily.0 -
Unless you need the covers from the PvP event it was never really worth it to spend the HP on the shields especially now that they tweaked it so that the payoff metric is significantly not in your favor so far as using shield to make more HP is concerned.
I don't think Nick Fury will ever be available for 1300 reward because that'd literally be throwing away money. They know people will chase after him so why give people a cheaper way to get him? If he's offered as a top PvP prize, it's likely a negative expected value compared to just buying him outright. If there are 100K active players in PvP, then between 5DV and XMen that already covers one person for every bracket (200*500 = 100K) and that's not counting any of the other crazy guys out there. They'll definitely make money via HP spent for people trying to get him but there could be a lot of negative will from all the guys who spend a lot of HP and still got outspent by someone else.0 -

Before the cutoff for 50 versus 100 HP is at #25, now it's at #10. It's far easier to say if you're #15 it should hold to #25 and shield up for -25 HP (spent 75 HP, gained 50 more) for the extra iso + less hassle. A comparable placement to that would be around #7 and it's far less certain if that'll hold #10 at the end so it's a more risky deal. Obviously if your score is already going to easily hold top 10 you should still shield if you value your time at all.0 -

I seriously doubt that. Agreed. Where is this paranoia coming from anyways? Why would they give a Season reward away so easily? That wouldn't make any sense no matter how you spin it. Season rewards will always be difficult to achieve due to the fact you have to play about a month and do well to get them.0 -
Probably get hit a bit less as the OP said, I expect that to become a bit more apparent when they gut C.Mags so all those Patchneto players start being a bit more picky on targets.
As far as Nick goes I expect him to get released into the rotation with X-Farce and IW mostly because that's what we were told would happen. He was released in seasons as a "preview" (according to Ice) and TBH if people have any interest in buying 10 covers for him they'll being doing it as soon as they get their yellow cover. They are much more likely to keep selling covers if ppl start getting a bit closer to a usable Fury and get impatient plus there will probably be the next 4* hero going in as season rewards to tempt impulse buyers to pick up 10 covers in 3 seasons time .0 -
Yeah, I figure once Fury gets into the packs he'll start showing up like IW and X-Force do. And because there's now 9 covers you'll only see him every so often. More than likely they start another 4* with another season to start this all over again. Remember, the 4*'s current aren't that rare because there's only two. But if they come out with 2-3 4*'s really quick and dilute the covers you can get from them, they will actually increase the rarity of getting one, thus increasing sales for covers.0
