Defensive Carryover

Hopefully not too stupid a question..

I know that your "defense" in PvP is the last team you won with. My question to you veterans is:

Does your defense carry over from one PvP to another, or are they independent? Say for example I win a match in the current God of Lies with Loki/AWolvie/OBW, then kick over to a lightening round to grab some iso with Aries/Daken/CStorm. Does the trip into lightening round reset my defense in God of Lies to some combination of the characters I won with in lightening round?

Also, same question but with PvE. Does PvE play reset your defending team in a PvP?

I ask these because I noticed recently getting smushed in PvP by teams that had absolutely no business beating me after cleaning up some easy teams in PvE with a lower level lineup. Seemed odd to me.

Thanks mucho.

i would think every team is independent to each other so lightning round, shield simulator, and each pvp would be separate; since each would have a different featured character and your shield simulator would be 3 of your choice. and pve should be totally separate cause that is something different entirely. just my thoughts, nothing i know for a fact.

killerkoala is correct. Each event is independent. your losses probably can be attributed to the AI playing your team badly. I have lost many many matches to sub par teams because they have C.Storm or OBW (likely on the back row) and the AI will not target them. Even M. Storm once she gets a leg up on you in AP can be dangerous and her low level nearly always means she will be tanked by another char and she can have free reign to attack you.

Imagine you are playing in Shield Sim then go over to a Featured PvP, borrow the loaner, and play for a bit. You don't have the loaner over in Shield, and it would be rather terrible to cut you down to two characters for defense.
  • Thanks folks. It is probably just bad AI that resulted in my losses. Just looked odd, so I thought I would ask!
