Wasn’t sure I had another classification idea, but apparently I did. This one abandons the DR concept all together, but does expand on characters and their colour abilities.

Step 1 – Take the official Marvel Power Ratings - http://marvel.wikia.com/Power_Grid
Intelligence
Strength
Speed
Durability
Energy Protection
Flighting Ability

Step 2 – Take your colours.
Yellow
Blue
Purple
Red
Green
Black

Step 3 – Link one item in each previous list with the other, so each colour has an associated ability. For example, by copying one list to the next, you get:

Intelligence = Yellow
Strength = Blue
Speed = Purple
Durability = Red
Energy Protection = Green
Flighting Ability = Black

Step 4 – Using http://marvel.wikia.com find out about each character and their focus. The higher the points, the more active the skill. For the sake of my sanity, I’ll just do the current 1* characters.

Black Widow
Intelligence - 3
Strength - 3
Speed - 2
Durability - 3
Energy Protection - 1
Flighting Ability - 6
Total - 20
So a generic BW character, might have an active Fighting Ability Skill and two passives connected to Intelligence, Strength, Durability and Energy Protection. For this example, that would be a Black and two others. Reminder again, colours just an example and determination about whether a skill was active or passive plays out as the character is formed, relative to their overall abilities as well as compared to others.

Hawkeye
Intelligence - 3
Strength - 2
Speed - 2
Durability - 2
Energy Protection - 1
Flighting Ability - 6
Total – 16
A generic Hawkeye character, might have an active Fighting Ability skill, an active or passive Intelligence and a passive, Strength, Speed or Durability – Black, Yellow and other.

Iron Man
Intelligence - 6
Strength - 6
Speed - 5
Durability - 6
Energy Protection - 6
Flighting Ability - 4
Total – 33
A generic IM character would have 3 active abilities of either Intelligence, Strength, Durability or Energy Protection – 3 of Yellow, Blue, Red or Green.

Storm
Intelligence - 2
Strength - 2
Speed - 3
Durability - 2
Energy Protection - 5
Flighting Ability - 4
Total – 18
A generic Storm character would have 2 active abilities of Energy Protection and Fighting Skills and a third active or passive ability of Speed – Green, Black, Purple. Once again, this colours are connected to each ability across all characters but for the sake of this writing are not “the final” colours.

Juggernaut
Intelligence - 2
Strength - 7
Speed - 2
Durability - 7
Energy Protection - 1
Flighting Ability - 4
Total – 21
Juggernaut would have an active Strength (Blue), Durability (Red) and an active or passive Fighting Skills (Yellow).

Venom
Intelligence - 2
Strength - 5
Speed - 3
Durability - 5
Energy Protection - 1
Flighting Ability - 2
Total – 18
Venom would have an active Strength (Blue), Durability (Red) and passive Speed (Purple).

Yelena Belova
Intelligence - 3
Strength - 2
Speed - 2
Durability - 2
Energy Protection - 3
Flighting Ability - 5
Total – 18
YB would have an active Fighting Skills (Yellow) and actives/passives Intelligence (Green) and Energy Projection (Green).

And so on and so forth…

You would try to ensure that you had a diverse mix of characters so that you don’t have EVERYONE using the same few colours, but where possible try not to change the colour system.

Step 5 - And how would characters then rank? By their overall individual total power grid amount. So while you would have a much longer list and a clearer differentiation once you had done all your characters, for this example we’ll use the above characters.

1* - Hawkeye (16)
2* - Storm (18), Venom (18) and Yelena Belova (18)
3* - Black Widow (20) and Juggernaut (21)
4* - Iron Man (33)

The end. For now.
