Ragnarok vs Spidey

So I've been browsing the forums a lot and reading about everything. As far as 3*'s go I only hear two names almost ever. Rag and spidey.

Right now I have 85 Thor high levels Cap A - LM40 -grey suit - and a ton if lvl 30-50.
I decided my 3*'s (LM50 and grey suit) aren't quite cutting it compared to my Thor or Cap A IMO. Iron man recharge is really nice but my iron man is a 4-0-4 (dumping covers early on before I knew what I was doin + never finding a blue) I really think my HP is going to go towards acquiring a very high lvl spidey or rag. (I feel $20 for 1x S&V cover is a lil outrageous or I'd love to raise wolvie)

I'm kinda leaning towards spidey because I already have Thor for devastation but it's hard to ignore just the pure intimidation factor from Rag's health. I would appreciate any good arguments for either character to help my decision making. Thanks!

Both. Spidey will save your day many times. 2ap stun is a super ability. And now with his purple skill he is even better. Spidey is super in any team. Of course rag is a pure tank. With 10red ap thounderclap can easly generate 30ap green and many other ap. His abilities is really spamable. Game changes drasticaly after you get rag to max level, With him you will win many other covers. Rag is just easy mode in this game. If you wanna invest your money invest with rag first.

I'd suggest Rags. With the right team, a max-skilled Rags can just auto-win once you get to like 8-10 red AP. Spidey is great too but if you can only have one or the other, I'd go with Rags as he'll lead you to more tourney wins in the short run, letting you build up your collection with tourney prizes.
Rags is better than Spidey for tourneys for 2 reasons IMO...
1) A rags-based team can win matches quicker than a spidey-based team. Spidey teams can take a long time to win, as you stun-lock then chip away.
2) High level Rags is a deterrent for attackers. Aside from the hugely higher HP, the AI is simply better at using Rags than spidey. The AI just drops the hammer every time it has 2 red AP, so opponents know they're going to take some significant damage if they attack a high level rags. With Spidey, the AI doesn't know how to properly stun-lock, and often gives you the chance to blow up the web tiles, and it's not hard to kill Spidey before he gets out of hand.

I was in a very similar situation to you a few weeks ago, with a 1/1 rags, invested $20 in skilling up Rags red twice, used that to win a few more red rags covers in that week's lightning rounds, and now have a 5/3 rags that's won me about 15-20 three-star covers since.
