PVP Matchmaking?

Just curious how pvp matches are decided, like who fights who. I'm new, with a new team, my highest level unit is Iron Man, level 10. Yet I keep getting these notices saying I've been attacked, and when I go to retaliate the opposing teams are level 25, 35, even one with level 50 units. Is there any kind of matchmaking here or is it just completely random where level fifties go after newbie teams? Cuz that doesn't seem really fair.

The matchmaking from my experience is broken. I am often put up against much higher teams than my own. Or, it's not broken but the system is being exploited by those higher ranked teams who are tanking their ratings to be pitted against easy opponents.

It should work as follows: You get a rating dependant on your overall performance (attacks you yourself won versus attacks from other players you lost against). So if you are often matched against higher opponents that means a) You're fighting a lot of teams that are stronger than yourself and so your rating goes up or b) these other teams are losing a lot and are rated down (or they lose on purpose to get easier opponents).

The matchmaking works well in the middle portion of the player base in my experience but I've heard of a lot of new players who complain about enemies being too strong and a lot of top players who complain that they always get the same 5 or so targets over and over no matter how often they skip.


I hope you are using the skipping function a lot already. Are there only level 30+ teams or do you also find teams in your range if you hit skip a few times?

The few, like three, teams I beat in Big Thunder were my level, not higher level than my team. Now I can't even participate because all three team choices are level 25 and over. The one has level 25 units, another has a level 35, and the third has level 50.

Don't know anything about skipping, have not seen that option.

Skip them then, it's the button that says "skip". Just out of interest, what did you think that button did?

If you click on one of the three buttons and the team shows up, there is a button on the middle left that says "skip". Use this and you get another team. You can use this as much as you want, you don't get punished for it. So you can find a team that's your level

Aaaah...had not even noticed that button. I'd click to check the opponants level then back out. Here I thought you got three opponants and were stuck with just those choices until you fought them...though nine out of ten times teams with much higher units still show up but at least now I can find one that's my own level now.

Yeah, my son pointed the skip button after I missed a whole tournament staring at the same three players intimidated.

My son looked over my shouldera and said uh dad, just use the skip button. Huh?

what a cool story ^^ but I have to say as I started the game I was a little bit intimidated to use the skip button because I did not know if something bad might happen
