Steam users REALLY hate the fact that a casual mobile "free to play" game is being listed on steam. Honestly I wouldn't like it either if mobile games f2p games from Mobage, etc. etc. started flooding steam so I do not blame them the least bit.

Maybe d3p can one day redeem themselves by turning all their current materials (art and code etc.) from Dark Reign into a standalone PvE title with a fixed price that has no microtransactions. Something that has an RPG style metagame outside the battle much like the original puzzle quest. I'd buy that too.

There's a huge backlash to the F2P mobile game movement. 'Traditional' gamers are hugely threatened by it and fear that the entire industry will turn this way (which is ridiculous).

I think they (Steam/PC gamers) have a fair point though. MPQ falls a bit short (in terms of content and art assets) from what you would traditionally expect on Steam. Even indie games made by a few people have way more content than what you would find in MPQ. But you could ostensibly spend 10 times as much on MPQ than you would on a game like Terraria.

Honestly, I'm right there with them. Gaming has taken a nose dive in quality since alternate pay models have arisen. I don't blame any one developer or game but a lot of people start making justifications for shovelware just because it's free. Don't get me started on DLC.

That's not what I said. Please don't put words into my mouth. I said they could maybe one day redeem themselves by recycling materials to create the marvel themed puzzle quest game the large number of steam users say they want to play. It was just a passing mention and it frustrates me that you'd come at me like that completely unprovoked.

I didn't come at you at all. I pointed out the fact that you made a silly request. D3P doesn't owe anyone a damn thing. Who cares if a bunch of spoiled children on another forum doesn't like their product? This game is on a f2p model, period. The amount of effort it'd take to change that is not worth the potential reward. I've never even heard of a game rowing backwards up the pay -> f2p river anyway.

It wasn't a request. It was an idea. Puzzle Quest 2 sucked and the franchise deserves a better sequel.

Edit: And once again, I never suggested Dark Reign itself be changed. That'd just be dumb.
