Strategy for Jump Jets 3, Last of 'em

So I hit a full stop on the last couple missions of The Hunt scenarios. The level 200+ villains are just too much. I was hoping to hear some general strategies that people have found successful.

My typical team is:
Black Widow (Grey Suit) level 57
Wolverine (Astonishing X-Men) level 53
Iron Man (Model 40) level 34

The only viable sub I could bring in is maybe Thor (Marvel Now) lvl 37 or Storm (Classic) lvl 28. I snagged an Invisible Woman (Classic) lvl 30 in her release tourney but I don't think her level 1 green ability is sufficient to help out.

I've tried all the AP-granting boosts, as well as +dmg in different combinations but eventually I just get overrun with enemy strike tiles. Should I try bringing in my Storm Modern over Wolvie just to keep clearing the board over and over?

Any ideas would be appreciated. These missions are just hammering me.

  • Storm modern should do Ok if you could keep her in the back. But the second you matched green with grey suit and im she would die in a fire.

Interestingly, she has the same colors as punisher. Too bad he's not out yet lol.
  • You need to build that Thor up, brother. Level 37 is puny.

You could try my C.Storm strategy:

Purposely tank the hit points on C.Storm, and two other heros with low max HP stats. Keep retreating from battles until they are uniformly less than 50% of their max HPs.

Re-enter the battle and put some heros out for 'bait'. Let them hit and Classic Storm's tempest will trigger. If your opponent isn't hitting hard enough to trigger, try to purposely leave some match 4's for them to do.
  • I use:
    85 Thor 5/5/3
    73 Iron man 40 1/3/5
    51 spider man 0/3/2

I'm attacking with Thor abilities, red makes yellow times hits for 2k, yellow hits fit 4k, obviously using spider man to stun in emergencies, and matching iron man's tiles so he takes the hits so thor can live and do the damage, worked very well for me, I beat all the Florida missions with ease

And I still don't have any yellow spider man
  • My strategy has been to go in with;
Level 90 Black Widow - Grey Suit 5/3/5
Level 67 Classic Spider Man 5/5/3
and a third (this spot isn't vital, a Rag. would be awesome here but I don't have one)

I go in with a +3 to all ap and +3 to blue and purple. This allows me to web everyone if needed with the ultimate goal to make two purple matches to feed Deceptive tactics which then enables Sniper Rifle. Grey suit gets a boost in these battles so her Sniper Rifle is even better then normal. Once the rifle has gone off I web as needed till I can build up Deceptive Tactics again then rinse and repeat.
  • Modern Hawkeye is insane up in here. I have a level 53, with 5130 HP. His abilities hit like a truck, my blue hits for 4377 (and stuns) and red hits for 2379 (entire team) but they aren't what you really care about. Matching environmental tiles give 30 each, so you can get containment breach like crazy. Crit reds and blues hit for 3-4k. Go for every environmental match you can, reds or blues if you can't, use his abilities when up, and spam containment breach. Do not use system breakdown if you get it, it's not worth it - 5 containment breaches is way, way better.

Beat the "Impossible" missions with M Hawk plus whatever. I *almost* beat "Last of 'em" with a level 15 Invisible Woman, Level 18 Ironman 40, and M Hawkeye. Got Venom and Belova down, but Daken got me with just 1 or 2 hits left. Uncertain if it's even worth trying again.
  • All very useful information, thanks guys. My Hawkeye (Modern) is only 3/2/3 and level 15 so I will probably not be able to get him up to useful before Hunt ends. And I've had the worst luck with Thor covers - I've sold 4 greens since getting a usable cover (he's currently 3/2/3 but I have no interest in putting his green about 3). I'm swinging b/w 15th and 30th in the current Double Shot tourney so either my Thor or my Black Widow is about to get a good boost, which should help out with the remaining Hunt. Mostly going to conserve ISO until then.

Been using IM40 as a damage tampon with Rag hiding behind and IW is useless. Key is to get to 12 red with everyone still standing. Once I'm there I have been able to cruise to victory over a bunch of Thunderclaps/Godlike Power. I bring Venom forward to take all the matching damage until 12 Red is achieved. If it looks like I have enough early blue I work to bring all three opponents to Ballistic Salvo range and finish them off there. I have had to spend Health packs but with all of them floating from the Unstable ISO event and this one I am sitting on >30 so spending a health pack is easy to choose for me. I have yet to lose with this strategy and have not had to use boosts.
  • I use spiderman and thor. Spider stun, thor kills. I take out belova first, then daken, then venom. I start with belova because she has the least hp. Getting her down means I only need to stun two for control. Thor packs a solid punch hitting 2-4k per special. It takes a bit, but I get em down and use spidey to heal before the end of the battle.
  • 107 im40 and 85thor. +3 all, +3 red yellow, +20% to dark avengers.

Attack venom first. Double red thor nuke on him when theres a good yellow board. Then double thor yellow to down daken.

If enemy doesnt get random cascades im40 will still have over 50% hp

That is my strategy as well and Im only running a 85 im40 and 80 Thor. Pretty similar result as well. Depending on the board I can sometimes get two rounds in without losing IM40.
  • I use Rag, IM40 and Spidey. I take Daken down first (his strike tiles really annoy me) and then stun the heck out of the HAMMER guy and Venom. I take the HAMMER guy down next and keep Venom stunned while I heal my team up so they'll be fresh for the next match, then I kill Venom while stunned. I think this strategy would work if you replace Rag with a boosted or leveled character with a similar skill set (Wolvie, Black Widow, Thor).

In fact, in a similar mission where I couldn't use Rag, I replaced my Rag with a level 31 Thor and had about a 80% success rate. I was shocked.

I tried the tactics above but two boosted red Lvl85 Thor attacks don't come close to taking out Venom. By the time I managed to take out Venom once (didn't even manage that the second time) I had been snared, pheromone raged and cascaded into oblivion. Maybe I'm just unlucky but the enemy always seems to get huge cascades and criticals in tricky battles. icon_e_sad.gif
  • It's a tough match for sure. I was lucky enough to get all 3 IW in the event but with a grand total of lvl 38 still pretty much dead weight. I typically start with stockpile (all) stockpile (red & yellow) 20% damage dark avengers maybe not the best but it gets momentum going early.

I replace my IM40 with my captain A (both around lvl 70 ATM. I match as many red as possible before enemy has too much ap then unleash Thor on venom. 2-3 red attacks followed by some probable crits and a yellow attack or 2. Cap A keeps their heavy hitters down pretty well (not as good as spidey but my spidey is a 1-1-0 so... Yeah. Lol.

All in all I wouldn't expect to do well without ur Thor at 70+ and another solid 70+ that supports him very well.
  • the best way to kill jump jets 3 is to use hawkeye modern and magneto NOW. the third member is up to you guys, preferably ironman m40 or thor.

just use magneto's polarity shift to land the critical tile on the environment tiles. then just spam critical. don't use system failure though.

i run with level 53 hawkeye, level 77 magneto and thor. even much easier if you have purple stockpile.
  • Many, many thanks to those who suggested Hawkeye Modern. I was able to beat both missions (though it did take me several attempts for the 3x 230 lvl DAs) by chaining crits. I'll have to try out the Magneto trick - mine only has a level 1 Polarity Shift though. =/
  • I did 85 Thor, 33 Mod Hawkeye and 70 IM40.

Thor and Iron Man end up being back up for each other when one goes down, but yeah, the key is chain crits with Hawkeye. He is nuts in this event and it is actually pretty fun to figure out how to set it up. I tried it with Grey Widdow (her purple is at 5) but she just didn't have enough hit points to survive if she got stuck out in the cold.

That and I made a point to kill the Captain first. His heals that I couldn't defend against were eating my lunch. Taking him out first actually solved that and made the other two a lot easier to handle.
  • These missions tend to go one of two ways for me: either they go relatively smoothly and I take little damage, or I get a board setup that isn't very favorable and I wind up getting wiped. Burned quite a few health packs yesterday.

Similar setup here. 85 Thor, 85 Storm, 74 Iron Man. Using the same 3 boosts. 1st turn: Mjolnir's Might to Daken. Then make 2 yellow matches. There should now be very few yellow tiles on the board, so Recharge should be go to go. In the next 3 turns, make you sure that you don't make any 3 green matches. (I say 3 because Venom usually sneaks in a stun.) Avoid setting up tiles that the AI can move to do a 4 tile match, since they can wipe out the countdown tiles. Once IM is stunned, you should be able to take out Daken with more Thor attacks. Use Storm's blue skill to stun Venom (and maybe finish off Daken if you still haven't) and her green skill to pick up all the yellow tiles that are now on the board. Venom should be weak by the time the stun is over, and the Lieutenant is easy pickings.
